Advantages: Very effective

Disadvantages: None

For a while now I have been using the Body Shop's tea tree oil face mask.   I do have skin which is slightly prone to spots so a mask with tea tree, a natural antiseptic is good for my skin.

This mask is made from Fairtrade tea tree leaves on trees at the foot of Mount Kenya and the leaves are steamed and distilled to get the oil from them. As you would expect the mask is a green colour, a nice brightest slightly bluish green and smells of tea tree which is very refreshing.

I use my face mask about twice a week, just a thin layer over all my face.  Because I use a thin layer on my face the mask dried quickly, in about two minutes.  Obviously the thicker the layer of mask you add the longer it takes to dry.  The directions suggest to leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes, which I do and by this time the mask is very dry on my face.  The mask doesn't dry my skin or make it feel tight and feels nice and refreshing, like it is cleansing my face for the time it is on.

This is a wash off not peel off mask so I wash with warm water and the mask comes of very easily.  After washing off my face feels smooth, soft and fresh. My skin is completely non greasy and I think it helps my t-zone stay dry for a few days, hence helps me stop getting blackheads and spots.

This face mask comes in a 100ml tub with a screw cap.  I like that fact it is in a tub as it enables me to use every last bit, so there is no wastage like with a tube.  The mask is thick and creamy and easy to scoop out with a finger and applies evenly to the face.

A tub costs £10 which is a little on the expensive side, however. I use it as a twice weekly facial "treat" a tub lasts me about six months so I feel it is worth it for the results I get.

Summary: A good mask for spot prone skin
