The Product

This product is a facial cleanser and is part of the Vitamin E range from The Body Shop of which I am a huge fan of. I started using the product in this before Christmas as I had some dry skin on my forehead and wanted something that was going to help this. I purchased an Intensive moisturiser in this range and found it the best moisturiser I have ever used so I decided to try some of the other products in the range. As there was 40% off products online a few weeks ago I took advantage of this offer and treated myself to some more products in this range including the Cleanser, Toner and Facial Mist. The cleansers in a light cream and gently lifts away dirt, make-up and impurities to clean, soften and condition your skin. The cleanser effectively cleans to leave you skin feeling refreshed and feeling smooth and supple. I find the product in this range gentle on my skin, even on dry areas. The cleanser comes in a light pink plastic bottle which is the colour of the packaging in the entire Vitamin E range. On the front of the bottle it states what the product is. On the back of the bottle it tells you how to use the product in various different languages. You can peel this label back to reveal a list of ingredients also in different languages. The bottle has a white plastic lid which flips open to reveal the small hole in which the product dispenses.

I purchased this from The Body Shop website but you can also purchase it from their stores as well. Prices may vary during different times of the year and I actually purchased this product with 40% off which was fantastic value. I actually find that they often have very good offers on their website, so I buy all my products from there rather than my local store. Online this product currently has 50% off which means it's reduced from £8.00 to £4.00. This is for a 200ml bottle which is the only size this product comes in.

Using the Product

Massage into skin with fingertips and remove using a clean cotton pad or muslin cloth. If product gets into eyes rinse with clean water. When using cleanser I normally put some of the product onto a cotton pad and then wipe it over my face, how-ever I was going to use the product as suggested. The first thing I noticed about the bottle was that it was made of quite strong plastic which meant I had to squeeze the bottle slightly harder in order to dispense some of the product. I put a small amount of 2 of my fingertips and applied the product as suggested massaging it into my skin. The cleanser wasn't too thick but wasn't runny either. It was white in colour and has a shine to it and looked rather glossy. As I applied it to my face it felt really cool and refreshing. The cleanser has a very light, pleasant fragrance to it. After massaging it into my skin I then used 2-3 cotton wool pads to remove it. As I did this I could see the results on the cotton wool pads themselves. There wasn't a huge amount of dirt and grease on the cotton wool pads but there was enough on there for me to see that the product was doing a good job of cleansing my face. I often suffer from sensitive skin and often have dry patches occurring but the cleanser didn't irritate these areas or make them sore which was good. After removing the cleanser I left my skin for a minute or two and then using clean hands I felt my skin. My face felt extremely smooth and soft, much softer and smoother than it had done before. My face also felt cool and refreshed with a lovely clean feeling. My skin not only felt good but it looked refreshed and moisturised too & also radiant. I was really impressed with this and even after the first use I had decided that this was much better than my previous cleanser. The cleanser caused no irritation or reactions to my skin.

Overall Opinion

The cleanser does a brilliant job of cleansing my face and I can tell it does this as you can see the results on the cotton wool pad after wiping your face. I love the way that the cleanser makes my face feel refreshed and cool with a really clean feeling. Although the product only has a very light scent this is pleasant. Since using the cleanser along with other products in the Vitamin E range my skin has become much smoother and softer. I don't suffer from many blemishes anyway, so I can't comment on whether this helps to reduce blemishes or not. The packaging in which the cleanser comes in is very simple but attractive. The bottle can be a little hard to squeeze and I can only imagine this will get even harder towards to end of the bottle. In terms of value I think the product is fantastic value when at half price. At full price the cleanser is a lot more expensive than my previous cleanser, how-ever I don't mind paying full price for this as the product is fantastic and works better than my other cleanser I was previously using. I would recommend this product to others, especially if you have dry skin as I find that the product doesn't irritate it or make it feel sting when applying it. I use the product morning and before going to bed but you only need to apply a little of the product as a little goes a long way. I highly recommend this product, along with other products in the Vitamin E range.
