The Product

The product I am reviewing is the Vitamin E hydrating toner from The Body Shop. The toner removes traces of cleanser, dirt and make-up without drying the skin, leaving it feeling soft, supple and refreshed. It leaves your skin with a lovely velvety feel. I actually purchase this product a few weeks ago along with some other products in this range as it does suggest using this product after the cleansing lotion which is what I also purchased. I became a huge fan of this range after trying some of their moisturisers in this range and was so impressed with the results that I thought I would give some of the other products in this range a go. The toner comes in a pale pink bottle which matches the other products in this range. On the front of the bottle it states what the product is and on the back it tells you a little bit about the product and how to use it. You can also find a list of ingredients as well. The label on the back of the bottle opens to reveal the ingredients in different languages. The lid to the bottle is white and has a flip top which reveals the small hole in which the products comes out of.

I purchased this from The Body Shop website, where I there was a code to get 40% off all products purchased so I got this for a very reasonable price. The toner comes in one size which is a 200ml bottle and it costs £8.00 at full price. Please note, how-ever they often have discount codes on their website, so check this before popping to your local store to purchase it.

Using the Product

It suggest to soak a cotton wool pad in the toner and then wipe over your face & neck after cleansing. This is probably how I would have used the product anyway. I use Boots cotton wool pads which are normally on offer and I find these more then suitable for using with the toner. Please note that I actually used the toner after the Vitamin E cleansing lotion for better results. I held a cotton wool pad in my left hand and flipped open the lid to the toner and tipped it upside down. I had to squeeze the bottle a little to ensure some of the product came out. I was a little surprised at the consistency of the product as my last toner product was very thin and like water. This was slightly thicker, and was like a thin gel. The toner soaked into the cotton wool pad well. I didn't want to dispense too much as I didn't want to waste any. Once the cotton wool pad was soaked I wiped it over my face and neck. As soon as the cotton wool pad touched my face it was immediately cool against my skin. As I wiped the cotton wool pad over my face it felt smooth and soft and my face felt really refreshed and clean. The smell of the product was very light but also very pleasant and reminded me a little of baby lotion. After wiping my face with the cotton wool pad I could see some of the dirt it had collected from my face. My face looked radiant and my skin felt so smooth and soft, I was really impressed. I threw the cotton wool pad into the bin and applied my moisturiser as normal. (I use the Vitamin E moisturiser).

Overall Opinion

I love the feel of the toner against my skin and the results from using the toner are fantastic. I noticed instant results after using the product just once. I was amazed and impressed at how soft and smooth my skin felt after using the product. I suffer from sensitive and often dry skin and the product didn't cause any irritation or soreness to my skin which was good. In terms of value, although the product is a lot more expensive than my previous toner (at least 3 times more expensive), this one is much better and makes a huge different to my skin. I will be purchasing this again and other products in the Vitamin E range. I can't think of any bad points about this product. I would highly recommend this to others. Even if you have never used any of the products in the Vitamin E range before after using this you won't go back to your previous toner.
