      Vitamin E Intensive Moisturiser

      The Product
      = = = = = = =
This product is part of the Vitamin E range from The Body Shop which is a particular range that I am a huge fan of. I am currently suffering from dry skin on my forehead which becomes rather itchy during the day. I already have the night and day cream in this range but I needed something more intense to help soothe the dry skin. This particular product has been specially formulated for very dry skin, so I thought this would be perfect for me. This silky moisturiser locks in moisture for long-lasting hydration, leaving skin feeling silky smooth. It also helps to restore the skin's natural moisture barrier as well. The cream comes in a pink round tub which has a screw lid. All the products in the Vitamin E range comes in pink coloured packaging. On the top of the lid it states what the product is and it also states that it's for very dry skin. On the bottom of the tub is small round label which you can open to reveal a list of ingredients. The tub only comes in one size which is 50ml. When you unscrew the lid to tub you will notice a white flat disc which protects the cream from moving about. This has a tab so you can pull this tray out which reveal the cream. The cream is pale pink in colour and is a slightly glossy looking. It looks very smooth and slightly thicker than the day and night cream in this range.

I purchased this from The Body Shop website, but you can purchase this from the store itself. I paid £12.00 for the 50ml tub, which I don't think is too bad so long as the product works and does what it claims.

      Using the Product

After cleansing and toning apply the product to the face and neck using fingertips.

The first time I applied this product was before going to bed. I had just exfoliated using an exfoliating sponge and some facial wash. I patted my skin dry and then dipped one of my fingertips into the cream. I didn't want to take too much cream as I wasn't sure how much I would need. The cream felt cool as I dipped a fingertip into it. I applied the cream to my face as instructions for using the product. The cream felt extremely soft and smooth against my skin as I applied it. I was expecting the cream to have a slight cool feel to it but it didn't. I only needed to use a small amount of the cream to use for the whole of my face and a little bit extra for my neck. The cream was a little thicker than what I expected, how-ever despite it being thicker than the other creams in this range; it was easy to apply to my skin without leaving it feel greasy. After applying the cream to my forehead where I was suffering from dry skin it immediately felt relieved and the itching also stopped which was such a relief as the itching was making it slightly sore. I often find that some creams can make dry skin sting a little, how-ever with this cream it wasn't the case and there was no slight sting as I applied it to the dry areas. Shortly after applying the cream my skin immediately looked radiant and felt very smooth and soft. The cream takes a few minutes to absorb into the skin as long as you haven't gone over the top and used lots of it. I was hoping with regular use of this product my dry skin would clear up and become less itchy and noticeable. Within just 1-2 days of using the cream my dry skin was already feeling and looking much better, it didn't itch at all which meant the dry skin was clearing up. After about 3-5 days of using the cream morning and night the dry skin on my forehead had gone, I was really impressed!

      Overall Opinion
      = = = = = = = = =
When I purchased this cream I had high hopes of it as the other products in this range are really good. I wasn't disappointed at all when I started using the cream and was really impressed at the results and how it helped to clear up my dry skin. Although the cream is slightly thicker than what I'm used to using it doesn't feel heavy or greasy on the face which is good. A small amount of the cream goes a long way so I expect this to last me a good month, if not longer. In terms of value I think the cream was very reasonable, especially as it works and lives up to its claims. I was a little worried that the cream was going to sting slightly when applying it to the dry skin, how-ever it didn't and it soothed the skin and gave it moisture more than anything else. I can't think of anything negative to say about this product and I highly recommend it to others, especially if you suffer from dry skin during the winter months or in fact any other time of the year. I guarantee you will be impressed with the results.
