Advantages: Effects, only need a small amount, reasonably priced
Disadvantages: None for me
Since my youngest daughter came out of nappies a couple of years ago I hardly ever use Boots any more, so when I found my advantage card lurking in my purse a few weeks ago, I was eager to know how many points were on the card. To my surprise there was nearly £25.00 worth of points that I had totally forgotten about and so I decided to splash out and treat myself to some products I wouldn't normally buy. I had been suffering from bad skin and felt it looked dull and tired so I headed straight to the face care range and soon settled on this microbrasion product from Sanctuary. It wasn't massively expensive for what it was, as you pay an awful lot for any treatment remotely similar at beauticians and it was price at £9.95. At the time there was also a 3 for 2 offer on Santuary so as an average over the 3 products it did work out cheaper.
Packaging:
The product isn't in the usual orange and white style of Santuary products and looks more expensive and high end than it is. In a fairly plain looking box with simple writing and a sleek tube it certainly looked the part, but did it work? Well yes it did actually! The polish heats the skin almost instantly upon application and works to smooth and refine tired looking and creped skin. I found it also smoothed my skin after a few weeks application and my uneven patches felt less erm uneven!
Ingredients and scent:
The product contains rich beeswax, jojoba and wheatgerm which all together smells devine but subtle. I always feel slightly non trusting of facial products that stink to high heaven even if the scent is nice. I like products to smell natural and this most certainly does. With marine earth used as a fine polish, it acts as a natural exfoliant so slightly rubs at the dead skin cells.
How and when to use:
To start off with you need to use this product about 3 times a week. I used mine every other day for around 10 days and then at this point I had started to see an improvement in my tone and uneven patches and so reduced this to twice a week. I sometimes might only use this now once a week but I think after seeing the effects of it, it's important to continue with it as a part of skincare regime and will continue to use it regularly. To apply, you first need to ensure your skin is make up free, cleansed and slightly damp. You should then apply a small dab (you don't need much) and in circular motions rub gently onto the face, but particular apply to the T zone. No need to leave it on for any period (despite it's nice warming feel!) and you can wash away with warm water or remove with a damp face cloth. The product doesn't dry the skin, but at this point I always apply moisturiser. I coincide the use of this product with the Santuary Stop the Clock moisturiser which has an SPF of 15 and is reasonably price at around £15.
Effects:
The effects of this product are noticeable and within a fairly short time period too. As I mentioned, I noticed a difference within around 10 days, although I could feel the effects and softness of my skin immediately after the first application. My skin felt rejuvianted and soft and I would absolutely recommend this product.
Summary: 5 stars
