I use a few different sorts of moisturising lotions and potions and Vaseline is a tried and trusted brand I have used for years. Vaseline Essential Moisture Body Lotion is something I have been using for ages. I buy mine in a tallish sturdy plastic bottle with a flip top lid (and not tube format as in the Dooyoo picture). These bottles come in two sizes, to my knowledge, and I buy the smaller sized 200ml bottle and pay in the region of £2.75 though currently this is for sale at £1.29 in Home Bargains.
The lotion itself is on the thin side but nevertheless is a good texture and it sinks well into my skin. I use this all over my body and it is quickly absorbed, light and non-greasy. It smells only very mildly fragranced and it isn't at all overly powerful in terms of fragrance. This means that it doesn't clash with any other perfumed product I might happen to be wearing at the same time.
This is a great product, which is cheap and cheerful but also brilliantly effective in terms of hydrating and moisturising my skin. I have noticed a definite improvement in the smoothness and moisture content of my skin since I have been using this product and though it is thin in consistency it also has the ability to add moisture to my skin and keep it hydrated over a twenty four hour period, though this product makes no claim to being able to do this.
It's a great moisturising lotion to use underneath a fake tan product as it prevents fake tan streaks and marks and it's very effective on even the driest areas of my body, such as elbows and knees. I also use it as a very effective hand cream and as it leaves no greasy residue behind, it means I can just get on with things without having to wait for ages for it to dry.
It doesn't claim to be anything fancy or special, but nevertheless, I'm really pleased with this product and I highly recommend it.
Shaving everyday is a necessity for my day to day job. This takes an horrendous toll on my face and often feels like im shaving an extra layer of skin off my face per day, this specifically worsens in the winter leaving me with dry skin and sometimes a small rash on my neck.
______Enter the product______
I came across Vaseline essential moisture in ASDA whilst i was looking for E45 cream. Which i previously used, due to this newly found product being on offer at £1 for 200ml, me being a tight Northener it had to be done. (Pocket before Vanity) I saved 39p as it is normally priced around £1.39, but every couple of months it returns as a roll back product at £1.
______Is it Any Good?______
As i previously stated i shave everyday and suffer, heightening during the winter months, after shaving i apply a small handfull on my face and neck. After applying, my face feels instantly better and signs of dry skin are immediatley quashed. My neck feels a cool relief immediatley with the shaving rash disappearing within an hour. The product is immensly effective on my skin.
Not only is it effective it smells nice to, without sounding Metrosexual.
______How long will my £1 last me______
Clearly dependent on application, i apply twice a day, once after shaving in the morning, and after showering in the evening, but only apply small amounts on my face and neck. My £1 lasted for two months, equating to £6 a year to combat dry skin.
This product works for me and may not for others, but for the cheap price i would highly recommend at least giving it a trial period.

Thank you for reading,
Having dry skin can be a bit of a pain - literally. My arms and legs in particular are prone to being very dry, flaky and itchy so I'm always on the lookout for the perfect moisturiser for them. Not long ago whilst shopping in Morrisons I noticed Vaseline Essential Moisture at 99p for a 200ml bottle so after a quick read of the claims decided to try one. Said claims are: it contains pure oat extract, has multi-layer moisture at the top, core and deep down layers of skin absorbing quickly without greasiness. Sounded like just the thing.
I must point out nowhere on the bottle does it indicate what type of skin this is aimed at but with those multi-layer moisture claims it made me think dry skin might be the target. The packaging, quickly, is a flat bottle with a flip top lid. It has a flat lid so can be stood on it when you get to the dregs. All the aforementioned claims are written on the front and back and a picture of some oats are on the front as a lure.
The cream is white and quite thick and smells kind of sweet and fresh all at the same time. So far so good, onto the actual moisturising. I found it absorbed well and did indeed leave no greasiness in a short space of time but it just wasn't moisturising enough for my arms and legs, it worked fine on all other areas but I still had dry flaky patches on my arms and legs and my shins in particular itched from lack of moisture. Sadly this doesn't perform well on dry areas but as I mentioned before it doesn't actually say it is for dry skin. The areas where it is enough are left smelling of the light scent and feeling silky smooth with not a hint of greasiness so if you had normal skin this would likely suffice all over.
For me it's a middle of the road 3 stars for the nice scent, quick absorbing cream and a silky feeling on certain areas but with a "multi-layer moisture" claim all over the bottle I have to deduct stars for not being extremely moisturising on dry areas. For those of you who don't have dry skin this is a cheap and pleasant moisturising body cream so possibly worth a try. I will use the remainder of this product but it isn't one I'll purchase again so you decide!
WHAT IS IT?
A moisturising body lotion from Vaseline.
The Essential Moisture Body Lotion comes in a yellow plastic squeezy bottle. When you open the flip top lid the lotion comes out of a small hole on the top of the bottle.
IS IT ANY GOOD?
I have always liked Vaseline but they are releasing lots of new products very quickly now and the quality is suffering. This body lotion is very thin and it's easy to squeeze too much out if you're heavy handed with the bottle, it doesn't feel very creamy but still has a rich texture like the majority of Vaseline lotions and creams. It spreads across my skin easily and absorbs very quickly, it says on the bottle that it's non-greasy but I think it does give my skin an oily feel immediately after I've applied it. This goes after a few minutes but means I can't get dressed straight away after I've used the body lotion.
The smell is nice and fresh but nothing special compared to other scented body lotions I use. After I've used this body lotion my skin always feels soft and moisturised, I used it when I had some very dry and scaly skin on my arm recently and it worked a lot better than I thought it would because of the how thin the lotion is. I think this is because it absorbs into my skin so quickly, as soon as I rub it into problem areas they feel less dry to the touch and after using it every day for two weeks the dry area had gone completely.
I buy this when it's on special promotion because it's good quality but I can get a thicker body lotion for the same amount of money if it's full price, it is effective but I like my body lotions and creams to have a more luxury feel and this one is a bit too thin for me to enjoy using it too regularly.
4 Dooyoo Stars.
The fresh scent, lightweight texture and inexpensive price make this my favourite everyday body moisturiser.
By the favourite skincare brand Vaseline, this moisturiser is the essential everyday moisturiser in my cosmetics range. Makes my skin feel silky smooth and smells nice without the scent being overpowering. I use this daily after showering or bathing. For the best effect, exfoliate in the bath first, then dry off and moisturise for a healthy looking body glow.
My favourite thing about this is the amount of product you get for the price, so you actually don't need to buy that often. This was an overall superior product to other brands of moisturiser I have tried including the Asda own brand Vitamin E moisturiser as it felt less "wet" on the skin, and more moisturising. It left a nicer scent too. Other brands of moisturiser I have tried have been a lot more expensive too, so this one was a fresh change at a good value for money. Complys with quality of other Vaseline products and measures up to the same quality of moisturiser as many designer branded moisturisers (where you essentially pay for the label!)
I decided to go with a well known brand for my moisturiser as I wanted a quality one. This stayed on all day long and was lightweight. Vaseline are well known for their little pots of Vaseline and scented Vaseline, and this product used the same essential elements of skin moisturising as these little pots, but in a format perfect for all over body that wasn't sticky at all.
I bought this from Sainsburies but you can get it at other major retailers and even if you do your cosmetics shop online. I was looking for a new moisturiser at a good price and this absolutely fits the bill - 5 stars!
Advantages of the product: Clean, silky feeling skin after use, no overpowering scent. Easy squeeze bottle. Smells really nice.
Disadvantages: The only one I can think of is that the bottle is quite heavy and bulky.
I usually have a tube of handcream in my bag at all times so when I was in superdrug a few months ago I had a look at what was on offer. I saw this cream available in a 75ml tube for 99p so decided to give it a try.
Vaseline is a brand I am very familiar with and as of recently they have branched out into doing body creams and lotions more vigorously and I am a big fan! Having already owned 2 of their lotions in the range I had a strong commitment to this brand and decided to stick with it.
*** About the lotion ***
This Vaseline essential moisture comes in vibrant yellow packaging, and is a described as a clean feeling lotion for healthy, soft skin. It contains pure oat extract and stratys for multi layer moisture - to penetrate the epidermis and provide long lasting moisture throughout the day.
It is a runny, thick White lotion Which has a slight hint of yellow colouring. In the tube version I have it is easy to squeeze out as it is top down and apply liberally.
*** My Opinion ***
I only use this lotion on my hands and it is a decent product but not amazing. It smells quite subtle with a hint of honey and oats blended together. The smell is quite long lasting and lingers allowing my hands to feel fresh. I always get particularly dry hands after washing them, so when I am out and about this is the first cream I turn to use. I feel it may be a bit of an exaggeration to claim it is multi layer moisture as it moisturises my hands as good as any hand cream I've had in the past, but of course within an hour or so my hands feel normal again. Overall, it is a decent priced product for a basic use as a hand cream but nothing more outstanding compared to other brands on the Market so worth the 99p when on offer but I wouldn't run out to buy it any time soon!
I bought this as i had run out of my usual body moisturiser and wanted something cheap as i was skint. I had never used vasaline moisturiser but my boyfriend said his nan uses it and her skin is always soft so i thought i'd give it a go. I was not disappointed. It smelt lovely and make my body feel super soft. It lasted for ages as a little goes so far. I will definatly buy again but i'll get the bigger bottle next time :). I would definaly recommend this to anyone who can not afford the more expensive moisturiser as i believe it is just as good!!!!!
A few weeks ago I was at my parents' house and with the cold winter weather my hands were feeling a little dry so I asked my mum if she had some hand cream that I could use. My mum ran upstairs and came down with about 5 different ones, then about a week later she handed me a bottle of the Vaseline Essential Moisture which she had purchased for me as she said she didn't want me having dry skin. I explained to her that I have various moisturisers at home it was just a case of my hands feeling dry at that time, but not to turn down a freebee I popped it into my bag.
The Vaseline Essential moisturiser comes in a 200ml bottle and is currently priced at £2.79 from Boots. You can also purchase the moisturiser in a larger 400ml bottle as well. I think my mum actually purchased me the moisturiser from a supermarket when it was on special offer and it is certainly worth looking out for regular offers on this product.
The moisturiser comes in a yellow pearlescent plastic bottle which has a flip top cap. There is a label on the front and the back of the bottle which gives you information about the moisturiser inside. On the front there is the Vaseline logo and it states that the moisturiser contains pure oat extract and stratys 3, and is a 'clean feeling lotion for healthy soft skin'. On the back of the bottle you can find more information about how the moisturiser works with it stating that it works deep down the layers of skin absorbing quickly without greasiness. You can also find the full ingredients listings and that the bottle is suitable for recycling.
The moisturiser itself is really easy to dispense from the bottle by simple flipping the cap open turning the bottle upside down and giving it a gentle squeeze. The moisturiser is white in colour and quite a thick consistency. I was very impressed with the fragrance as it was nice and fresh but not too overpowering so does not interfere or clash with any perfume you may want to wear. I have used most of the bottle of this moisturiser now and have been very impressed with it, it does absorb very easily into my skin and does not feel at all greasy. I tend to suffer from quite dry skin on my legs where I shave them but since using this moisturiser have found them to be much softer and smoother. I do sometimes suffer with outbreaks of eczema but have not encountered any adverse reaction with using this moisturiser and would certainly recommend it and purchase it again as I think it works perfectly well and is great value for money.
The essential moisture body lotion is a non greasy body lotion that has been created by Vaseline. Vaseline states that they have been caring for skin since 1870 so you have to accept that they know what they're doing! The product promises to be absorbed quickly leaving the skin feeling healthy, smooth and soft using a multi layered moisture technology.
The product comes in three different varieties. You could choose the green bottle Aloe Fresh which is a light lotion or the brown bottled Cocoa Radiant rich lotion. I chose the middle lotion which promises to leave your skin feeling clean and this is the yellow bottled Essential Moisture.
How does it work?
The product works by hydrating the skin on the top layer, middle layer and deep down into the core of the skin using an oat extract. It also contains Glycerin which draws moisture into the skin and allows it to be retained.
How do you use the product?
The product is to be used in the same way as any other body lotion. There are no instructions on the packaging and it doesn't in fact say anywhere on the bottle that it is a body lotion but I still wouldn't think that it's suitable for use on the face.
The product can be applied to the body onto skin that is dry and cleansed and massaged in until it has been fully absorbed. The product can be reapplied as often as necessary.
Packaging and Price
The packaging is bright and summery and it is contained within a lovely yellow bottle that is made of plastic. It has a picture of some oats and some limited information about the product. The lid is a deeper yellow and it is a flip top so it makes it really easy to access the lotion.
The product is available in three different sizes. I bought the 400ml bottle for around £4 but it is also available in both 200ml and 75ml bottle and these obviously cost less money. The product can be bought from many department stores, larger supermarkets and a variety of online websites.
Aroma and appearance
The product has a lovely summery, refreshing aroma. I can't put my finger on exactly what it smells like but it is quite sweet and it is faint enough to not mix with your perfume or put anyone off. It almost smells a little bit like freshly washed sheets. The lotion is white in colour and has a medium consistency just as promised.
The lotion feels lovely on the skin and it is absorbed super fast with minimal effort on my part. It seems to melt into the skin and disappears. You do need to use quite a lot of the lotion because it disappears. It feels completely comfortable on my skin and it certainly doesn't make me feel greasy or sticky at all. In fact, just as promised on the bottle, it leaves me feeling and smelling clean.
The product does make my skin feel soft and smooth from the first application. It doesn't leave me feeling wowed, but it does the job. Despite being light, it does get to work on even my driest areas, although it doesn't banish them completely.
It does manage to make my skin look healthier and seems to banish any dullness. It doesn't leave any greasy sheen or shine on the skin so apart from it looking healthy, nobody would really guess that you have put anything on. The results are long lasting and reapplication isn't really necessary until bedtime.
All in all, this is a good long lasting product that makes the skin look and feel healthy. It leaves you feeling and smelling fresh and clean and leaves no noticeable sheen on the skin. I would repurchase the product again if I ever saw it on offer. It didn't blow me away but this is a perfectly good product which lives up to all of its promises.
~NEW-VASELINE® ESSENTIAL MOISTURE BODY LOTION WITH PURE OAT EXTRACT + STRATYS 3TM MULTI LAYER MOISTURE~
I have always been a regular user of Vaseline products for a long time and always consider Vaseline products first before I buy any other lotions for my daily use. I like these products for their moisturising effect but should say some of them tend to be rather oily. Over the years I have tried and used various Vaseline products including body lotions, lip balms, hand & body lotion, body butters, petroleum jelly, antiperspirants aerosols and roll on deodorants. Sometime in November 2011, I noticed there was a new range amongst the Vaseline body lotions and what caught my eyes was the New Vaseline Essential Moisture Body Lotion with Oats. I decided to give it a try so it found itself in my shopping basket.
According to the manufacturer, this is one of the three Vaseline Total Moisture Lotions which have been recently launched by Vaseline.
Here goes my experience with this lotion.....
~Availability and Price~
The lotion is manufactured by Unilever and Vaseline® is just one of the product ranges they manufacture. The lotion is readily available in all high street supermarkets and pharmacies which sell toiletry. It is also available from online stores such as from Amazon in the Health and Beauty Category.
In the UK, the lotion is available in 75ml tubes, 200 ml and 400 ml bottles. The price ranges are given below:
* 75 ml-----£1.50 to £2.00
* 200 ml-----£2.00 to £3.00
* 400 ml-----£4.00 to just over £5.00.
I bought the 200ml for £2.70 from my local Tesco supermarket. Not bad when compared to other reputable lotions.
~Packaging and Visibility~
The lotion comes in a simple light yellow slightly flattened oval plastic bottle with a slightly darker yellow lid. This design and overall shape of the bottle is really good and well balanced so the bottle does not tip over easily. The bottle is also made of good quality plastic which is soft to press and also crack free. The lid operates on a Push-on Snap Hinge Closure system. So the lid is not a standard screw cap lid but comes in two components, the whole lid with another flip up cap attached to it by a hinge. The lotion is decanted from the bottle through a tiny nozzle and does not have a pump as with other lotions. The lotion pours out well from the bottle. The flip up lid fits and clips securely around the nozzle and is fairly flat and broad and the bottle can actually be left standing upside down on the lid and not the base.
**This is an advantage when the lotion is low level or about to run out. Standing the bottle on the lid allows the lotion to move towards the mouth of the bottle hence less energy is required for squeezing to release the lotion, also means less hassles of having to tilting the bottle and having to wait for the lotion to move down, especially when in a hurry. Crucially important in these hard financial times, this minimises the wastage as nearly the last drop which can come out of the bottle can be used.
**I wouldn't stand the bottle on the lid if there is plenty of lotion usually more than half as the lotion will exert too much pressure and just a slight squeeze would see the lotion squirting all over under pressure.
Environment wise, there is no extra packaging with this lotion, it does not come packed in a box, so what you see is what you get. The bottled is also made of plastic which can be recycled which is a plus for the environment.
The lotion is very visible as it is a fairly new product on the lotion shelves. The container has pictorial images at the front of the natural extracts, in this case oats and this offers the lotion a great stand-out on the shelf and specifically draws attention to those who love using lotions with natural ingredients. The label text really sticks out at the front with the word "New" clearly visible on a red background and the usual Vaseline® trade mark logo on the usual blue background. The words "Essential moisture .......pure oat extract + stratys 3TM multi layer moisture" are printed in combination of white and brown clearly visible text which is further accentuated by the image of oats plants also clearly visible in brown. All the small print for the ingredients and other related information is printed on the other side of the bottle. The Unilever logo is also clearly visible.
~Composition and Application~
The ingredients in the lotion seem well balanced. The lotion is non greasy and is a relatively mild moisturising body lotion. It is creamish in colour and has a smooth non runny consistence compared to other lotions.
It is fairly easy to apply but a bit of massaging into the skin always gives best results. It is easily absorbed into the skin and leaves the skin with a soft and refreshing feeling. The lotion keeps the skin fairly moisturised throughout the day but without the greasiness associated with other lotions. Using it has saved my skin from dryness this winter. I just want my skin moisturised throughout the day and not glowing so this is just perfect for me.
The smell is nice, lightly fragranced and the fresh smell of oats adds on to the effects. The smell is not overpowering at all and the lotion is basically unisex so can be used by both gender although VASELINE® MEN® skincare line of products is also available specifically for men. The smell can also be masked by the smell of the perfume you decide to wear which is good so there is no clash in the smells.
Like everything associated with people, the lotion may not be suitable for everyone.
According to the manufacturer, using this lotion should result in a softer, smoother skin, not sure after how long, only time will tell but my skin loves this lotion.
The lotion is meant to be suitable for normal to dry skin which I perfectly agree with as it really has a fantastic moisturising effect. Total Moisture® lotion should leave your skin feeling healthy, soft and smooth.
If you are like me you would wonder what the pure oat extract and Stratys-3TM multi-layer moisture does for you. According to the manufacturer, these ingredients including three powerful moisturising ingredients in Stratys-3TM, constitute a technology which is unique and enables the moisture to permeate deep down across multiple layers of the skin, (the top, core and deep down layers) resulting in superior moisturisation and healthy looking skin without the greasiness. The lotion is absorbed quickly and penetrates deeply, which feels good on the skin and does well for your skin.
**Did you know Vaseline has been caring for skin since 1870 and are still determined to continue doing so through the various improved lotions and other products they have developed over the years?...I think my skin care is in good hands.
I love this lotion I am glad it is readily available in most outlets at a reasonable price.
And yes I highly recomment it.
