My wife introduced me to this product a year or so ago, since which time she has had to buy a second bottle and we now have one each kept in each of our bedside drawers.
I had an issue with burnt skin last year - not as a consequence of deliberate sunbathing but as so often happens, getting caught unawares when the sun wasn't that strong but clearly was. At the time, the skin dried out and was flaking away.
I guess the damage had been done and I was always going to lose a layer or two of skin, but I found that by using this product, the area was soothed and felt cool. I was able to stop myself picking away at the dead bits - awful habit but a popular one nevertheless, I suspect.
The other time I use it is at bedtime occasionally when your skin looks a bit dry - I don't use a moisturiser as a matter of routine but wouldn't deride a bloke who did. (In fact, one of the proposed uses for the product as stated on the bottle is as an after-shave moisturiser.) I rub it on my hands and forearms and also occasionally on my feet or heels.
I like this stuff because it has a fresh and pleasant smell - very much like aloe vera and cucumber in fact! It's not too feminine a scent and also, importantly it rubs in well and doesn't leave you feeling greasy.
Vaseline enjoys a good reputation as a brand and although I don't buy other of their products and came across this by accident via my wife, I will probably buy another bottle when mine runs out.
It isn't stocked everywhere, but they still have it in my local store. The size we have is 400ml and used sparingly it lasts for ages.
I have only recently started using Vaseline Aloe Vera body lotion after it was recommended to me by my friend, and now I don't think that I could live without it! It provides amazing hydration to the skin, making it feel totally moisturised and refreshed. I find this moisturiser works wonders to soothe and moisturise my skin after it has had a bit of a tough time, for example after I have just epilated or exfoliated. Also the aloe makes the moisturiser seem lovely and cooling, so much so that I actually found this soothed my sunburn better than after sun itself!
The moisturiser is light and non-sticky, which means it is still really easy to use in hot countries or before getting dressed. Since using this product, it has not irritated my skin at all (my skin has been known to be very sensitive to some products) and has definitely improved the condition of my skin as well. I would recommend this moisturiser to anyone wanting a low fragrance, gentle but effective moisturiser that soothes and refreshes.
This moisturiser is about £2.50 for 200ml, but that goes a long way and is of excellent quality, so in my opinion this product is definitely good value for money.
I use this as aftersun as it soothes any burn, if you have any, and helps your tan develop nicely - with no peeling! I use it as moisturiser on my face (i have quite sensitive skin) and it seems to be absolutely fine, it leaves me feeling soft :) I also use it on my feet overnight to leave them feeling silky smooth, so it really can be used for everything!
As it contains aloe vera and cucumber, it feels really soothing and refreshing on the skin - tingling a little when it is rubbed in.
It isn't greasy and it rubs in very quickly, leaving you with more time to do other things!
With the flip top bottle opening at the top, it dispenses easily and without any mess, meaning that you can just use as much as you need to - and then dispense a little more easily if need be.
It is quite a bulky bottle, but as the moisturiser isn't really greasy, your hands don't slip about whilst you're trying to get more product out.
Being about £4 for 400ml, it is really good value for money. A little goes a long way so you'll keep it for around 3 months easily, even if you use it every day.
You can get it from places such as Superdrug, as well as supermarkets such as Asda and Tesco - but I think it's about 20p cheaper at Boots (and you'll get points back!). So it is easily available whenever you need another bottle.
Even after all of the Skin Problems I have, Dry Skin has never really been one of them. Sometimes I do suffer with it but usually when the heating is switched on after the so called British summer. The Dry heat of the central heating always manages to turn my skin into sand paper for a few weeks.
So a friend recommened Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Fresh. As she was living with us at the time she gave me her bottle to try so off I went with using it. And I am so glad that I did. Even if I have to use that damn awful Hibi Scrub and I have dry skin I will always ensure I use a moisturiser as I cannot stand having Sore, Dry, Flaky Skin.
The one that she gave me to try and I have since bought, comes in a 400ml bottle. The bottle itself is about 20cm high and in a light green colour. The top of the bottle is a dark blue with a flip lid so you can just squeeze the lotion out.
On the front of the bottle is the Vaseline Intensive Care written in white on a blue background, with the Aloe Fresh Light Moisturising Lotion written under neath in green. Just below that is a stencil drawing of an Aloe Leaf and a cucumber. On the front at the bottom it then adivses you it is the Aloe Vera and Cucumber, refreshing and soothing lotion.
On the Back of the bottle it advises that 'Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Fresh lightweight moisturiser contains two active natural ingredients, soothing Aloe Vera and cooling Cucumber extract, leaving skin feeling refreshed and revitalised. Perfect for use after exposure to the sun, after excercise or simply for tired skin'.
I have used Aloe Vera before and it is used for it's soothing properties on dry, chapped skin. It is also used in our house as a soother and prevention of baby Scarlet's Ezcema so I know it is very good. Cucumber however, I have only ever used to soothe my eyes after a session of sampling Strongbow's in our local pub. It is very soothing for my eyes but I wasn't sure how it would be in this cream.
As I opened the bottle I noticed the smell wasn't strong which I was so glad about as strong smelling perfume, moistuisers and deodorant can give me a headache. I find the smell is more of Cucumber than Aloe Vera and is quite an odd smell. It does take a bit of getting used to but once you have you will find it nice and refreshing.
The Directions on the bottle advise to apply liberally over the body but as I don't like to feel greasy (this was an issue in my previous obsessive compulsive disorder) so I only used a bit to start with. the lotion itrself is a quite runny (not so that it falls off your hands though), light green liquid and I noticed straight away that it is not at all greasy. So off I went with caking it all over.
I found that the lotion sank in really quickly and left a silky smooth feel to my skin. Even the next morning I noticed that my skin was so lovely and the smell lasts quite a while. Even Mr Kimbles likes the smell now aswell which means it must be good because he dislikes almost every smell of everything I use.
If however, I am having a really bad patch with my skin (certainly after shaving my legs) it can sting my skin whilst putting it on. Because of this reason I will not use it on my face and also because I use a Coconut Body Shop one. The sting does stop within a few seconds and on the next application I find that the stinging has ceased.
As the lotion can also be used as an after sun lotion we took this on holiday to Gran Caneria with us. Even Mr Kimbles and his family used it in the end as they found it was much better than their bought after sun lotion. It left my tan lovely and without peeley skin.
I would certainly recommend this to anyone and with a price tag of £3.90 for a 400ml bottle (from Morrisons) it is just as good as the more expensive ones, what a bargain.
This item has now been rebranded to Vaseline Intensive Care 'Aloe Fresh' body lotion.
[What they say.]
Vaseline research has developed Aloe Fresh, a revitalizing all over body lotion. Aloe Fresh with aloe vera and cucumber moisturises and refreshes your skin. It's perfect for use after exposure to the sun or vigorous exersize or simply for times when your skin is feeling tired. Aloe Fresh is a moisturiser that leaves skin with the feeling of just-stepped-out-of-the-shower freshness.
Great for after sun, after shave moisturistion, after shower moisturisation and all over body.
[What I say.]
My mum had alot of those big Aloe Vera plants around the home and as a child I remember her breaking parts off and rubbing the yucky green goo over mine and my sisters sun burn. Now she constantly tells me how soft and wonderful it makes her skin feel. With this in mind, when I saw this moisturiser with 75% off in my local Wilkinsons store, I couldn't resist.
I purchased the 200ml tub. More than enough to last a few weeks. Original price was 2.49 but I think I paid around 75p which is a bargain. (I would happily pay full price for this now.)
The lotion is of quick a thick consistency, which is great as I don't get it everywhere when I am applying it. It is very pale green in color. I normally apply it after a bath or shower. When I rub it in, it instantly feels as though it is 'cooling' my skin. You don't need to use much for it to have an effect on your skin It is actually very easily and quickly absorbed. Doesn't feel greasy at all.
The only thing about this lotion I am not completely happy with, is the smell. It isn't an overpowering one, nor really a bad one. You can really smell the aloe and cucumber in the lotion, I don't really like it but I know many who do so don't let that put you off. (Have a little sniff before you buy it if you are concerned.)
The results? It left my skin feeling incredibly cooled, soothed and soft. I really wouldn't be without this lotion now. It does exactly what it is supposed to. It is fantastic for sun burn, does a really good job of cooling the skin and an even better job at just being an every day all over body moisturiser.
The lotion comes in quite a large (depending on which size you buy) plastic squeezy container with a flip top cap. A very pale green in color, there isn't really anything exciting about it. (Just a warning if you were to keep your eye out for this lotion, since it has been rebranded, the packaging is different from the image above.)
[Where to buy.]
This lotion can be purchased from all of the leading supermarkets. Most high street shops that have a health and beauty section and from many retailers online. You can purchase different sizes to suit your needs. Prices can range from £1.99-2.99 (or even cheaper if you're lucky enough to find it in a sale.)
If you want a decently priced body lotion, that is non-greasy and easily absorbed, suitable for every day moisturisation and that can also be used as after sun lotion and leaves your skin feeling incredibly soft and smooth, give this a try.
I have been using Vaseline Intensive care Aloe fresh moisturiser for years now and would never use anything different. I have tried cheaper alternatives in the past, that claim to be just as good, but I have found them to be a complete waste of money as they never moisturise as good as this product does.
I buy mine from Wilkinsons and a 200ml bottle costs me £1.99, I find that a bottle this size will last me approximately 2 weeks. The bottle is light green with a blue, flip top cap. It has a label on the front with the Vaseline Intensive care logo at the top in white and Aloe Fresh light moisturising lotion in the middle of the label. At the bottom of the label it states that it refreshes and soothes and that it contains aloe vera & cucumber.
The cream itself is a light green in colour and the smell is divine, it is always hard to describe a smell but it is a mixture of fresh cucumbers and something else that I can't quite put my finger on. The lotion is quite thick but not so thick that it doesn't rub in easily. You do not need a lot of this cream as it goes a long way, it rubs in very quickly and easily and doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy. It combats dry skin almost immediately, once you have applied one coat, it leaves your skin feeling lovely and soft.
the brand has actually been repackaged since this picture was put up but it is the same product(i hope!) ive been using this moisturiser for years and have used it on my kids since they were a year old-now they are older they use it themselves as does my hsband so we go through quite a lot of it! ive converted everyone-do i get aprize? a few free bottles would come in handy! it truly is the best body lotion ive ever used it hydrates your skin and leaves it with a lovely fragrance which is not overpowering its just right. it is also an everday cream we all use it after a shower eveyday even my youungest who is prone to sensitive skin finds a good product it keeps his skin feeling soft and doesnt irritate him at all. also ladies its really nice to use after you shave your legs, feels really soft and moisturised. its quite a compact bottle with a large top and its not messy at all you dont get any spillage which is a plus with kids! the price is fairly reasonable £4.19 from tesco and if you shop around you may find somewhere doing 2 for 1 which is what i got in superdrug recently. i would recommend this to anyone men women kids etc
Before I start, I must mention, that I believe that this product has been rebranded since the picture was put on above, and it now calls itself 'Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Fresh'.
~About the Product~
This is a body lotion, that contains both Aloe Vera and Cucumber, which refresh and revitalise the skin. It is a lightweight moisturiser, and they suggest this is perfect for after sunbathing, or exercising. I actually bought it because I have been doing a lot more exercise lately, so I wanted to keep my skin feeling supple to prevent stretch marks from forming, if I actually manage to lose any weight.
Again, the packaging differs slightly from the bottle pictured above. The bottle is tall and slim, in a pale green colour with navy blue flip top lid. There is a picture of a leaf and a cucumber slice on the front. The packaging is OK, but a bit basic and not really all that attractive.
On dispensing the product from the bottle, you can smell the cool, fresh scent of the lotion. I can definitely smell the cucumber in this, but its quite a gentle as well as having quite a creamy scent.
The pale green lotion glides over the skin easily, and absorbs quickly, always a plus, as some lotions I have used, take about 10 minutes of furious massage to get them to sink into the skin. It also has a lovely cool feel on the skin, which is why I can understand that they recommend it as an after sun. Once on the skin, this does leave a quite tacky feeling, however I would estimate that after around 5 minutes this disappears and the lotion dries.
Only a relatively small amount is required, as the consistency is quite thin, although not so thin that I would describe it as watery.
I have been using this body lotion for about a month now, and I love it! It leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft, smooth and moisturised. I have eczema, so am prone to dry patches of skin, and I find that this doesn't irritate my skin, and I havent had any more dry patches appear since using it.
As it is very light, you can hardly feel it on the skin - I hate when your body lotion feels thick and heavy on the skin, but this really isn't noticeable, apart from the lovely fresh fragrance the skin is left with.
This is available from Boots and costs £2.49 for a 200ml bottle, or £4.19 for a 400ml bottle. I have also seen the 200ml bottles in TJ Hughes for about £2.
If you are looking for a light moisturiser to cool your skin, and keep it supple, then I would definitely recommend this one, it's really good and affordable too.
I just love it, I have a very sensitive skin and any cream I used, ended up with me having pimples and my skin turning out to be oily. Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Vera and Cucumber is nothing but Magic, I love it and though it being a body lotion, I have been using it on my face and Woww!! My face has noticeably changed for the better.
I used to do a lot of rock climbing and constantly had scraped, dry skin on my hands - very sore! One day a friend bought along a leaf from an aloe vera plant and we took turns to rub our hands with it in the pub after wed fallen off most of the climbs wed been attempting. If we werent holding the leaf, we had both hands wrapped around our pint glasses trying to soothe the pain - we got some very strange looks that day! So, a few weeks later when I saw that Vaseline were making a moisturiser with aloe vera and cucumber, I jumped at it and Ive been buying it ever since. Its fantastic stuff!
It costs around £2.50 for a 200ml bottle (give or take 50p, depending on the shop) so it might seem a bit more expensive than some, but it really is worth the extra pennies. Vaseline describe it as an all over body lotion, an after-shave moisturiser, an after sun cream and "simply for times when your skin is feeling tired." You can forget having two or three bottles of different lotions in your bathroom - this stuff will do it all! Also, unlike many lotions in these categories, it is not at all greasy and is absorbed into the skin very quickly. It looks creamy, but it feels almost watery - like squashed cucumbers! This makes it great for after a shower or a bath as you can get dressed straight away without getting any marks on your clothes. Its also really cooling and refreshing, soothing wind or sunburnt skin very quickly and its even good for chapped lips, something I didnt expect from a lotion. I also use it after shaving as it doesnt sting on any cuts and moisturises beautifully.
Lastly, although this is actually one of the best things about this lotion, the smell is absolutely gorgeous! I know its just artificial, but you can definitely make out cucumber and aloe vera in there. It smells good enough to eat (and, as it doesnt contain any lanolin, it would be vegan-friendly!). Its almost worth the money for that smell alone! Lovely.

This cream is excellent!!! It is good for dry, flaky itchy skin. It re hydrates your skin and smells lovely. The smell is not too weak but not too strong either. It is a good cream to use after shaving and never stings. It is good to use when your hot because it really cools your skin! You can use it when ever you like and it is easy and quick to use. i would recommend this to any person of any age and with any skin type it is wonderful.
I have been using this fabulous product for at least 2 years now and I have absolutely no wish of using anything else. I am totally religious about moisturising as soon as I come out of the shower and it's light texture, cooling feel and easily absorbable formula means that you can just slap it on really quickly and get dressed immediately without getting any nasty marks on your clothes! I initially chose Vaseline Intensive Care as a lotion because after shaving I was concerned about getting those horrid little red bumps. My skin is so soft as a result of using this and even though I have been using it long term I would be confident that it would achieve great results on dry skin in a short period of time. When I make it to the gym or go swimming it comes along too and on the rare occasion when I have forgotten it I really just can't bear the tight feeling of my skin (now it honestly feels like it's crying out for it if you forget!). I have found that it does last all day. It goes on around 8.00am and lasts right through till bed-time. I am also a regular applier of fake tan and know only too well the perils of trying to apply that on skin that is not smooth and supple. The tan would usually be applied twice a week at night before I go to bed and the Vaseline Intensive Care lotion which I've applied first thing in the morning has more than adequately acted as a good primer to receive the fake tan which means it goes on evenly. The smell is to die for as well and it's also very reasonably priced which as far as I can remember is around £4.70. I have also used it as an after-sun lotion and personally I feel it is just as effective if not more so than a lot of the other specific after-sun lotions. On the back of the container it states that four uses are for use after-sun; all over body; after shave moisturisation and after shower moisturisation. I would thoroughly verify all these claims
and urge everyone to purchase!!
PLEASE NOTE THIS OPINION IS ON: VASELINE INTENSIVE CARE ALOE VERA AND CUCUMBER BODY LOTION Not Dermacare lotion, sorry there was no suitable place to write this opinion in. MY OP... I recieved an A3 Superdrug leaflet through my door the other day and couldn't resist looking at the latest offers. After noticing bottles of CK ONE and CK BE on offer, I saw a product I'd never noticed before. Now many of you may no that my lips live off vaseline, I love the stuff, it works, it's cheap and it's handy but I've never used any other Vaseline product before in my life! I noticed a body lotion from the 'Vaseline Intensive Care' range. It looked interesting and was on offer for only £1.86! The bottle was 200ml in size and a greeny / turquoise colour. The bottle was Aloe Vera And Cucumber! ~ Interestuing huh!? It said on the bottle that it was an Aloe fresh body lotion which sounded interesting so I gave into my temptation and bought some, I never knew when I'd use it I just wanted the bottle to try! It also mentioned on the bottle that it soothes, refreshes and rehydrates skin. On the front of the bottle there is the Vaseline Intensive Care symbol and the name of the product, on the back there are the ingredients and also four little pictures representing what the lotion is specialised for: 1. After Sun Instead of boating out for specilised after sun, why not try this lotion? It does the same job. With the recent spell of hot weather in Britain, I've found myself putting the lotion on daily as soon as I come indoors. I find it relaxes your skin and can also bring up a nice tan from redness like proper after sun lotion. 2. All Over Body Lotion If you're feeling a bit cranky, dry or not-moisturised, this lotion will soon moisturise you as it's a ALL OVER BODY lotion which means it can go anywhere and everywhere, right!? 3. After Shave M
oisturisation After shaving, this lotion can soothe any sore skin and refresh it. I always put this lotion on after shaving my legs, I think it revitalises them. I used to put Baby lotion on them but this stuff seems to have a stronger appeal now! I also used to put baby oil on my legs to make them shine and not seem so dry, yet again I've found myself using this body lotion instead. 4. After Shower Moisturisation After a shower, this lotion is lovely. If you've had a really long, hot shower the lotion really cools down your skin. It i refreshing and makes you feel very clean and you also smell wonderful too! I've found myself using this lotion quite a lot recently and I'm very happy with it. As you can see it has quite a few uses and the lotion itself is pretty great! I think this lotion is suitable for men too but mostly females use it. I recommend this lotion whilst it's on offer, it's superb for the hot weather and has many other suitable uses too. Go for it! Cheers and best wishes all. emma xxx :0)
Enriched with natural Aloe Vera and cucumber extracts, this lotion penetrates as deep as the dryness to soothe and relieve skin that's been exposed to harsh elements (e / g / sun, wind and cold)
