Vichy 3 in 1 Calming Cleansing Micellar Solution (200ml)
I bought this product in the summer and I have been using it on and off since then - I bought this as a cheaper and more available version of the famous Bioderma (which I did get when I was on holiday in Corsica this year).
- Product description (from Boots.com)
"Vichy Calming Micellar Solution gently removes make-up and impurities in one smooth non aggressive step. Micellar technology groups the cleansing agent in micelles. These micelles trap impurities and any excess of make-up to perfectly cleanse without rubbing or irritating."
- About the product
This product is a makeup remover and it contains 200ml or 6.76 fl oz of product. The Micellar solution claims to: cleanse, remove makeup and soothe all in one. The makeup remover is suitable for sensitive skin and dry skin. It doesn't contain alcohol, soap, colourants and it is tested on sensitive skin. Contains Vichy Thermal Spa Water and it also works as a toner as well as a makeup remover.
- Using the product
To use this product I just dispense some onto a cotton pad, you don't need a lot of this product for it to work well and I sweep the cotton pad over my face and neck to remove my makeup. One of the first things I noticed about this product is that it is scented which I do not like in skincare product as they have the potential to irritate my skin - but this makeup remover doesn't irritate my skin. The scent is really fresh, clean and fairly sweet which I like and it doesn't irritate my skin at all. I have used this product to remove various foundations, eyeshadows, concealer, lipstick, lip liner, powder, eyeliner etc and it works so well.
The product doesn't take long at all to remove my makeup and it is just so quick, easy and convenient to use. I have used quite a lot of makeup removers over the past few years from various brands such as simple, nivea, lancome and this is the only makeup remover that doesn't make my skin feel greasy at all! This product removes my make up, acts as a toner too and it really cleans my skin without leaving any residue or irritation - it leaves my skin feeling light, fresh and comfortably clean - not tightness, dryness or greasy/oiliness left on the skin which is great! Overall, this product is one of the best makeup removers I have ever used - along with Bioderma. I have now used up this bottle and I have already purchased another Vichy Micellar water.
- Price and availability
I bought this product a while ago from Boots and I have just used it up this week, it has only lasted this long because I have been strict with it otherwise I would have used it up sooner as it works fantastically well. This product can be bought from Boots.com for £11 which is a bit expensive in my opinion but it is definitely work the money! This product can also be bought from: Lloyds pharmacy for £10, eBay, escentual.com and various online pharmacy's.

Thank you for reading my review
21 years old. Sensitive combination skin. Oily but dehydrated. Prone to acné.
I got this bottle purete thermale solution micellaire for free when I bought my usual Vichy face wash (the pink one, also from purete thermale) at the local apothecary. I put it away, since I usually never use 3 in 1 products, because they never worked for me in the past.
When I was packing for a vacation a month or two ago I noticed that Id ran out of my usual face wash and I decided to pack this bottle, as it was the only face wash product I had.
I used it with a cotton pad, to remove make-up in the evening and to clean my face in the morning before putting on make-up. The only other product I used was Louis Widmer sun protection face factor 30 cream. This cream also left a matte finish, for the cleansing solution seems to leave a bit too much shine for my taste. And I use Lancome teint idole 24 hours (foundation) every other day. This combination miraculously worked wonders for my acné problem. In about two weeks red spots had disappeared and my acné was reduced to 1 spot on my cheek. I thought my skin had improved because of the sunny weather and sea water, during the vacation. But the acné only came back when I started to use my regular face wash again. So I switched to my new favourite Vichy product purete thermale solution micellaire :)
My skin type is sensitive as well as being combination and prone to acne. Over the years I have experimented with lots of different cleansers; usually aimed at oily and acne skin types. I read an online blog recently written by a fellow acne sufferer, who described how she transformed her skin by switching to gentler products which did not irritate her skin. This encouraged me to change the products which I use, and I have to say that I am very impressed with the results so far.
I began by purchasing the Avene extremely gentle cleanser which was lovely and soothing on my skin, but I didn't find it very effective at removing make up. I found that to remove it properly I had to use so so much of it, and I was running out of it quickly. I did a little google search regarding effective but gentle make up removers, and the bioderma micellar solution was a popular choice. As the product is difficult to get hold of in the UK I headed to Boots where I found this micelle water by Vichy.
After several google searches I am still not exactly sure what micellar waters actually are, or what makes them so gentle and effective. The overwhelming concensus, however, is that they are essentially an oil in water solution. Lots of different brands seems to produce these waters, but they are predominantly French. (I am definatley becoming more and more interested/obsessed with these French beauty brands!)
The Vichy cleanser is described as a 'calming cleansing solution,' which removes make up and eye make up as well as cleansing. I bought the product from Boots and paid about £10 for 200ml.
In order to apply the product I pour a small amount on a cotton pad then sweep over my face and eyes. If you wear no/little make up then this should suffice, however as I am a massive fan of trowelling on the old slap I need to repeat this twice. I then like to follow this process with the Avene gentle cleanser to properly cleanse the skin. This is a personal choice and I have to state that all make up is removed after the Vichy cleanser. Also, my skin is never red or irritated after the cleanser and it always feels properly clean and hydrating, without feeling 'stripped' like some cleansers. It also removes all my mascara, which means I don't have to purchase a seperate product.
The only disadvantage of the product is that it can be quite costly between the cost of cotton pads and the fact that I use quite a lot of product to remove my excessive make up usage! If you didn't wear as much make up as myself then you wouldn't use quite as much. In the month that I have been using the two products I have had only one new blemish which is quite frankly amazing for my skin. My skin has also had time to heal properly which means my old acne scars are gradually fading. For me, the cost is not an issue at all as long as my acne is kept under control, so for me I will definately repurchase time and time again.
(I have had a little look on ebay and I can't find that product much cheaper however I have found a Bioderma cleanser for about £16 which I am def buying as this is for a massive 500ml, which works out much cheaper overall)
