“ Brand: Virgin Vie / Type: Make Up Remover / Suitable for: Eye / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types „
I like having Virgin Vie parties - my next door neighbour is a consultant and the stuff is lovely. At my last party she "made me over" and used this stuff to get my mascara off. When she totted up my commission I decided to spend some of it on this, as it is something I would normally consider too expensive. (How much? For eye make up remover??)Well at £8.50 for 125ml it's more expensive than champagne!
Like all Virgin Vie products, simply gorgeous. You get 125 ml in a approx 5inch high bottle. It has a silver cap, which when you take it off reveals a top with a small hole in it. This prevents that "OhmiGOD, I didn't mean to use that much" moment!
This is from the back of the bottle -
For speedy removal of hard-to-shift lipstick and waterproof mascara, step this way. This skinloving formula with chamomile extract and panthenol not only lifts away the day's makeup, it also soothes and conditions skin and lashes. Clean, happy skin-fast track!
The Virgin Vie website also says it contains -
To effectively remove waterproof mascara and stubborn lipsticks.
To help cleanse and soothe the delicate eye area.
To condition your skin and lashes.
To brighten your skin.
Suitable for sensitive skin and contact lens wearers
HOW TO USE IT
The liquid is split into blue and clear which you must shake well before using to mix together. The mixing only lasts for a couple of seconds so if you need to use a second cotton wool pad you will need to shake it again. You put the lotion onto the pad and then "sweep" it over the eye. I found that when wearing water-proof mascara I had to hold it on the lashes for a few seconds.
DOES IT DO WHAT IT CLAIMS?
Yes it does, although it does take a couple of goes before it's all off. It can leave the eye area feeling slightly oily but my lashes certainly feel softer since using it. It certainly removes water-proof mascara gently and effectively. I am a contact lens wearer and I had no irritation of the eye.
After a friend was invited to a virgin vie party and said that all the products were really good,i was interested in trying it myself. The very next month my friend hosted a virgin vie party herself,i went along and was amazed at the amount of products they sell and the price of them.It was so expensive,I could not belive my eyes but I said to myself if it's that expensive then it must be really good.I brought the virgin vie eye makeup remover and that night I decided to go out with friends. When I got back I used the remover,I was so surprised when my face was left feeling like I had dipped my face in a deep fat fryer. It was horrible I had to wash my face twice with soap to get it off.So really there was no point in putting it on.The very next night I used the remover again making sure I follow the instructions to the letter, just incase I had got it wrong the night before but the same results happened again. My face was left dripping with oil. After using it for a while I noticed that I had loads more spots and my skin looked clogged and old.I stopped using the product and after a week my skin cleared up and went back to normal. In conclusion, just because is's expensive and comes in fancy boxes and bags does not mean its any good.Dont be fooled girls, shop around and dont listen to your friends trust your own skin to tell you weather it's good or not.
Virgin Vie do 2 make up removers. One is called Stay Calm and is designed to remove non waterproof make up etc. This product is excellent for those of you who have sensitive eyes or are contact lense wearers as I am. It has no oil in it which is one of the reasons you can't use it to remove waterproof makeup. Therefore it doesn't leave the area around your skin feeling greasy, just nice and cool and refreshed. I found it very gentle but very effective. It contains extract of eye bright - which really explains itself!!! This is £6 for 125ml and you need very little of it for it to work effectively so it will last a long time. The other one is Everything Goes Lip & Eye Make-Up Remover, and this takes the hastle out of removing those stubborn mascaras and long lasting lipsticks. Buying it to put on your dressing table is nice enough, the design of it is really quite eyecatching. Because this does contain oil, it has 'two halves'. The base is a lovely sea blue and the top is clear. It smells lovely and you can put that down to the watermelon extract which helps to cleanse and soothe the eye area and it also contains wheat protein which helps to feed and condition the skin and the lashes. This is £7 for 125ml and again is well worth the money. If you have a shop near you then go buy some, buy both, I did! If not then contact 0845 300 80 22 to book a Class and you quite possibly will receive them free!!
