“ Brand: Wilko / Type: Facial Wash / Suitable for: Face / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types / Product line: Wilko Skin Therapy „
I needed a face wash having recently run out of the superdrug tea tree cleanser that I usually use. I decided to try the Wilkinsons Skin Therapy Face wash because it was dead cheap -98p!! Also, it claimed to be fragrance free and no nasty chemicals- just a simple cleanser that does the job.
I didn't expect too much from the product given its price and I tend to use this at night before I sleep as a gentle cleanser. The gel is rather dilute and flubbery- it kind of gloops out of the tube and its sometimes difficult to dispense. It is hard to keep on your fingers and either slurps down the sink or makes a mess around the mouth of the container.
Once you actually manage to get an appropriate amount onto your fingers, applying it to a wet face will produce a gentle lather. This took a while and the lather wasn't very thick. After massaging the face, rinsing it with warm water will leave your face feeling clean- supposedly.
It was obvious that any oils on the skin was removed but it wasn't a clearly visible difference. It just does a 'meh' job. I have been using it for about a month now and it just does the basic function, nothing more.
For 98p, what you see is what you get I suppose. I would recommend this product if all you want to do is a quick wash- for deep cleansing or anything like that, try a different product. I know I'll be returning to the Superdrug tea tree wash very soon. Wilko was worth a try though.
