Advantages: Cleans, exfoliates and softens skin
Disadvantages: Not for daily use especially in sensitive skin
Being female and a little fickle when it comes to beauty products I'm always finding myself trying something different, sucked in by advertising hype or promises on the packaging, my bathroom cabinet overflows with different half used tubes and tubs of products promising to make me more beautiful one way or another. Amongst all these products are a vast number of different cleansing products one of which is Witch Exfoliating Face Wash, promising "effective deep pore cleansing" thanks to it's "active micro-granules" added vitamin E and anti-bacterial properties it's a product you'd believe would leave your face feeling clean and fresh.
The product itself comes in a 150ml aqua coloured squeezy tube, with the classic flat flip lid allowing the product to be stored as it would be dispensed, gravity helping the product make it's way to the nozzle ensuring little or no product ends up wasted. It is an almost colourless gel with visible "beads" to exfoliate the skin and a gentle fresh fragrance that is floral rather than fruity. When using the product you have to wet the face and squeeze your required amount of gel onto your fingertips, massage it gently onto the skin bringing up a slight lather and then rinse the product off thoroughly, it's advised that you avoid the eye area as the granules could irritate the eyes and a circular motion for application is best as that gets the blood supply in the skin working better giving you a fresher, healthier look, after rinsing simply pat your face dry with a towel and you're done. While the product is suitable for all skin types it does suggest that if you are prone to sensitive skin then you should initially limit use of the product to twice a week due to the natural witch hazel within the product being a possible irritant for delicate skin.
The product is quite pleasant to use and the exfoliating granules are surprisingly gentle on the skin, I had imagined they would feel quite rough as I was applying the product but while you are aware that they are present you don't feel any discomfort as you work the product into your skin. Rinsing the product off and avoiding the eye area can prove quite tricky and I always find that using a wet soft flannel to remove the lather works better then a general splash of water, the "micro-granules" are meant to break down during use making the process of removing the product easier however I do find that some granules remain and would rather avoid getting them in my eyes, once the product is removed though I always feel an immediate tightening to the skin, a definite feel of freshness as a result of any old skin cells being removed, my skin also feels soft to the touch thanks to the added vitamin E which helps condition and smooth the skin. I don't have sensitive skin but still don't use the product in a daily basis, instead alternating it with other gentler cleansing products. After using Witch Exfoliating Face Wash I can see a difference in the tone of my skin, I am often prone to blocked pores but Witch clears them really well giving me a lovely fresh look and feel, it also removes oil from the skin which will help control any break outs of spots.
I would certainly recommend the product for someone looking for an exfoliating face wash but not if you're looking for one for everyday use, it is pleasant to use and gets good results. A 150ml tube can last many months depending on how much you use and how often you use it and it only costs in the region of £3.99 for a tube which in my opinion is a very good price, certainly when compared to other branded exfoliators.

Summary: A good exfoliating product at a fair price.
