I have got quite sensitive skin and if I am honest it is a royal pain in the you know what, I have to be careful about which products I buy because many leave me with an unsightly rash, itchy skin and sometimes blisters (like Organics shampoo does my scalp) so it is often difficult to find something which works well with my skin and leaves it in a good, soft and smooth way. Lush is one of the few places I can shop without living in fear from suddenly looking like I've got a bad dose of measles, but I am always on the look out for new and exciting products to find and try. Yes to carrots is an odd name for a cosmetics brand and a friend of mine uses their hand and elbow cream which she swears is better than anything else she has ever used. With the weather being very cold and windy I've got the dreaded dry patches of skin back on my cheeks which is really irritating me and when I mentioned it my friend she sent me a tub of Yes to Carrots Exfoliating and Soothing Mud Mask to try and suggested that I looked into their products online. The Yes To Carrots range is available at selected Boots and Debenhams Stores and their website which is a bright orange colour is really well designed and when you decide you want to solve a problematic area such as your face for example you are given further options to choose from depending on your skin type. So if you have normal to dry skin on the screen before you will be a whole host of products to try. I had never even heard of this brand before Kirsty suggested trying it, so I did look them up online to find that their whole idea behind their products is to combine the goodness of fresh organic fruit and vegetables along with minerals from the dead sea, so it isn't just carrots that they include within their products. The Yes to Carrots Exfoliating and Soothing Mud Mask comes packaged in a tub containing 50ml which is for me a normal sized tub of any product and it retails for £8.80 which is a lot less than I would usually pay and because this one was free I am even more grateful before I have even used it. Once the screw on and off lid has been removed inside you will find a quite thickly set cream which isn't the colour I was expecting, given that the orange is the main colour of everything they do, instead the cream is a white colour with a tint of orange and it smells amazing. The ingredients within this product which make it smell so amazing is quite long but there are some worth mentioning. Carrot is the main ingredient in all of the products and the reason for that is that it is very rich in vitamin A which means that for the skin it helps to keep it soft and smooth whilst helping with anti-aging. Dead Sea Salts and Mud are great natural exfoliating agents and I am a big fan of a lot of products which come from the Dead Sea because again they don't irritate my skin, Dead Sea salts and mud have so many good aspects about them it is hard to know where to start but they do help Improve skin metabolism and encourage skin cell growth, Unclog pores, exfoliate dead skin cells and Soften and revitalise the skin. Also within this mud mask Almond Oil, Avocado Oil and Jojoba oils which are great moisturisers and help dehydrated and undernourished skin. Finally there us Chamomile Oil which helps to calm red, dry and irritated skin. There is a full list of the products ingredients on the website and upon the product itself for further information. When it comes to using this cream it is relatively easy to do. Whenever I use a product like this I always wash my face beforehand to remove any surface dirt to allow the exfoliating cream to work deeper into my skin. The cream itself is quite a thick texture so you only need a small amount to cover your skin and once you applied a thin layer to your skin, leave it on for at least five minutes to allow it to penetrate the skin and as the cream is working away, make sure you have some warm water in the sink and then once the allotted time is up as you remove the cream, massage it further into your skin using gentle circular motions over your face but make sure that you avoid your eyes (because it does sting). As you are rubbing the cream round your face you should feel a slight roughness but not an uncomfortable feeling on your skin as the dead skin is removed. Once you feel you have finished you simply rinse any left over cream from your face and then using clean, warm water re-wash your face to ensure all traces of the mixture have been removed and pat your face dry. With my cheeks having dry patches on them, I was quite interested to see how this product with deal with it and whether or not I would suffer from any reactions to it. I have to say that I was immediately impressed with it after patting my face dry and touching my cheeks I could feel an instant difference, there was no sign of any dry skin whatsoever and my skin did feel very soft and smooth and I could still smell the almond oil which has a lovely aroma too it. Since using it I haven't suffered any allergic reaction and it hasn't made my skin flare up at all, instead what I find is that after I have used it I am left with soft smooth skin and that I only need to use this product once every week and sometimes once every two weeks. Overall I was really impressed with this product, it is something I will definitely keep in my cupboard or on my shelf for emergencies should I run out of my favourite products because it is definitely a good back-up product to use my favourite thing about it other than the smell is that it only takes up 5-10 minutes of your time which is no time at all for soft, smooth healthy looking skin and at the price it sells for it is a real bargain. I would guess that the tub I have got will last me around 3-4 months if I used it on a weekly basis, so you do get your monies worth and I do recommend it.
