In the daytime I wear very little make-up, if any. But by night, if I am going out on the town, I like to transform my appearance to serious vamp! And with me it is all about the eyes. My eyes are blue, but my eyelashes and eyebrows are blonde, which isn't a very impressive look, and even worse by night. So I really like to accentuate my eyes and go for a really dramatic look especially when clubbing or going out in the evening. -

I, like most women, have tried many types of mascara. By day if I am going out I like to use 'Lash Architect' by L'Oreal. It's the best mascara that I have found so far in the ones that I have tried. But for evening wear when you want something more impressive without piling coat upon coat of thinner mascara on, which doesn't give the desired effect anyway, I find that Volume Clubbing gives me the 'Big Lash' look that I am after which is both thick and sexy. -


---VOLUME CLUBBING PRODUCT---

The mascara comes in a thick black tube which is encased tightly in a protective plastic covering and I had to cut it off to get to the actual mascara. So it was very well sealed and I was happy that no-one else would have been able to test it. It has a very attractive design upon the silver and black tube, with the 'Volume Clubbing' written in purple metallic writing. Placed upon the front is an eye displaying very thick, dark lashes promoting the effect of the product inside.

Beneath this is written: Dramatic look - Intense - Ultra Resistance - Extreme Volume, which is exactly what I was after, so I am hoping that this mascara will live up to the promises offered here. I have chosen the colour 'Absolute Black' and although I am very blonde I like the impressive look that deep black mascara gives me. It really makes the eyes stand out and when you are in a dark environment such as a club, this mascara should ensure that you definitely will get noticed.-


---THE VOLUME CLUBBING MASCARA---

As I said earlier, the mascara tube is substantial, being quite a thick round tube. As I pull the wand out from the container I notice that the wand brush is quite thick, yet flattened and not a round brush. The mascara itself is very creamy and thick but not saturating the brush, more rather inside the brush grooves where you want it really. This tube holds a good quantity of 11ml/0.32 FL OZ. The mascara boasts: Unique 'King Size' volume building brush and a mix of vinyl enriched ultra resistant formula that has been tested and approved by clubbers. Great claims by Bourjois I must say.

On applying the first coat of mascara to the lashes it really coats the eyelashes nicely with a thick black covering of the mascara, which sweeps on well and considering the thickness of the mascara, doesn't cause any clumping at all. My eyelashes are not generous by any means, but the Volume Clubbing mascara on first coat has delivered a thick black coating which has covered my eyelashes from root to tip. The black is intense and very dark and I am pleased with the effect so far.

On applying the second coat to the dried lashes the promised, dramatic effect begins to come into play. Volume Clubbing thickens the lashes whilst lengthening them also. I always find the second coat is the one which decides me on whether I rate a mascara or not and in the case of Volume Clubbing I am very impressed with the effect of the second coating of mascara. It delivers serious big lash effect and just what I was after. I will say to scrape some of the excess of mascara cream from the brush as it does tend to pick a little too much up and it really is surplus to requirements. So that's it; dramatic, smoky black, sexy eyes all ready for a night on the town.


---SUMMARY---

Well I love the Volume Clubbing mascara. It delivers exactly what it promises and if it can make my blonde, sparse eyelashes look gorgeous then it will do wonders for anyone else. It is completely waterproof, and is great for swimming, crying, getting caught in the rain and you can rub your eyes and this won't smudge! It is ultra resistant, smudgeproof, has great staying power and it thickens and lengthen the lashes without clump. Volume Clubbing comes in: Absolute Black - Disco Blue - and - Brown Remix. I paid £5.50 for mine as I had a £2.00 savings voucher for Boots. - MRP: £7.50. -
