Advantages: freshly baked bread, reliable, easy to use, great recipes,
Disadvantages: hole in the bottom
I got a cookworks breadmaker for christmas from my gf's parents and i love it! It came with a liquid measuring cup and a tbsp/tsp measuring spoon. It also came with recipe manual and troubleshooting manual. A 'hook' is also provided in case the mixer gets in the bread itself. I love the simplicity of the machine and it does what it says on the tin. It can do 1.5lb or 2lb loaf. It can also just mix dough without baking and even make jam! I can even make shortbread with it coz i didn't have an electric mixer at that time!
I have made jam with it but jam came out too liquidy so i had to use the jam function 3 times to get that consistency. I have use cake function as well but if you want a circular cake, you can't.
In a day, you can make 2-3 breads with it at least 30mins to an hour cooling time.
Pros:
- the bread doesn't stick to the pan. It's very easy to clean.
- there are 9 functions. There's basic, french, whole wheat, dough, jam, ultra-fast, quick, sweet and cake. Each functions have its own baking time and rising time. Except for dough which doesn't bake.
-The recipe provided is a good basis of what you can do with the bread and help you have an idea on more recipes to do in the machine.
-very sturdy, very reliable
-has a timer where you can just put ingredients in, set the time when you want it to start baking then you can just wake up in the morning with freshly baked bread!
-you can make anything! Not just bread! But also jams and cakes. I've also made pancakes, flatbreads, pizza base etc using the dough function.
Disadvantages:
-the measuring spoon provided isn't very good as it's only 1 tbsp and 1tsp. All recipes require either 1/4 tsp yeast and it's not safe to assume using the measuring spoon they have provided. I suggest you use better measuring spoons.
-the mixer can come out and get stuck inside the bread. you can take it out but it ruins the look of the bread.
-Bread comes out with a hole in the bottom.
I would highly recommend this product based on my experience with it and hopefully my review has convinced you.
