Advantages: Time delay cooking, many settings allowing for cooking different styles of bread
I have always preferred fresh bread to shop bought; it just tastes better and always makes the house smell fantastic. I had always made it by hand until a friend recommended this bread maker, and a bargain too at just £36.99. It is so easy to use, with clear easy to read instructions with large clear buttons that are clearly labelled and book with 26 recipes included in the box. I have also found plenty of websites providing recipes for many different things, that I had never even considered making before like donuts or pizza dough, but even those recipes have turned out great.
The Bread machine makes a 1.5lb or 2lb (680g or 907g) loaf of bread, has 12 programmes to choose from and 3 choices for the crust. Has 58-100min fast bake time for those in a rush, and has up to a 13 hour time delay for those that aren't. It's cool to the touch when cooking and has a measuring jug, spoon and recipe book, everything you need to start making bread straight out of the box. The machine it's self was approximately 27cm wide, 35cm deep and 33cm high when I measured it. It even has a Dough setting in case you wanted to make bread rolls ECT.
I could not recommend this bread maker any higher, especially because of the timer feature; I put all the ingredients in, set the timer and go to bed. When we wake up in the morning to the smell of fresh bread, the kids can't wait to have toast for breakfast and they just love taking sandwiches to school. My 5 year old has even started to have his own requests for bread including cheese, tomato and onion it might sound strange but considering his age it tasted great.
For a basic loaf I use, the basic setting (which takes 3 hours) and;
500g Strong Bread Flour
1.5 tsp Salt
1 tsp Sugar
2 tsp (7g) Dried Fast Action Yeast
300ml Water (I tend to use half boiling and half cold unless doing it over night)
To this I sometimes add extra ingredients such as;
1 Diced Onion
5-6 Diced Cherry Tomatoes or Diced Sun Dried Tomatoes (Pre soak them in the cold water first)
50-60g Grated Cheese (The more Mature the Cheese the stronger the taste)
If I add more than one ingredient than I change the amounts accordingly
Summary: Fantastic bread maker, couldn't recommend more
