A great, versatile, easy to use bread maker

I've owed one of these for a couple of years but have only really started to use it again after it ended up pushed away in the cupboard under the stairs. It takes up a lot of room on a work counter, I image a lot of bread makers do, but I have now given it a "home" where it is easy to access but doesn't get in my way. This, in my opinion is the only negative about this breadmaker.

It has 19 different settings though I must confess to having only used a fraction of these. It will even make jam, rice pudding and cakes, none of which I have tried.

It comes with a booklet which gives you recipes for all 19 settings. You just add all the ingredients in order, select the correct setting and then go. There is the option to delay cooking so you can come home or wake up to fresh bread. You can make 3 different size loaves, though I have found 1.5lbs the ideal size. There is also the option to add fruit or nuts with a handy dispenser which adds the fruit/nuts at the right time in the cycle

I use setting 6 for dough (1.5hrs long) and setting 14 for pizza dough (50mins) most often. Much easier than making dough by hand and finding somewhere warm enough for it to rise. Once the dough is ready, just shape into teacakes, baguettes or pizza round and cook in a pre heated oven for between 12 - 15 minutes. I add any pizza toppings to the pizza base before baking. Great for currant teacakes.

One particular advantage this bread maker has over some other models is that it makes loaf shaped bread with a small slit in the bottom (where the kneading tood has been) rather than a tall tower shape with a huge hole in the bottom (like my dad's)

Also supplied are measuring spoons and cups. The non stick pan and kneading tool are easy to clean too.

I should add a small word of warning...owning this machine may make your waistline expand as fresh, warm, just baked bread is rather moreish!
