I got this given as a flat warming gift a good few years ago and I've used it a dozen times since then. Its not that this is a bad product, it quite good.
The smell that fills your house is great, who needs air fresheners. The problem is that as a student it is less effort to buy a loaf of bread, then to buy some flour and stand waiting for this to make the bread. Granted you can make quite a few varieties of bread, as well as different flavors, but all that would need experimentation. It takes about 2 hours to bake a loaf of bread, or you can let it cook over night. I never did risk the overnight option though.
The first loaf i made came out rock hard, and kind of tiny. It was OK as a doorstop but not edible. The next one was a bit better, but still not quite edible. Eventually you get the hang of things. The instructions are quite clear, but you need to apply some common sense, and maybe invest in some actual measuring utensils instead of doing what i did, and chuck in what you think is the right amount (it wasn't).
With the price of bread rising though, i might be tempted to dust off this machine, and start using it again.
