These are so so delicious! I've never written a review for anything but I love these Harvest Morn chocolate coated rice cakes so much! Super yummy treat. More satisfying than a chocolate bar! :)

I much cheaper alternative to Rice Crispies!!

Looking at suitable cereals to give to my young son I came across these Aldi Harvest Morn Crisp Rice. As far as I could see they come in just on size, 375g, for which I paid 99p. The Crips Rice is packaged in a plastic, tear open bag within a card box. The box contains all the nutritional information, details on recycling and storage instructions. Each 30g serving will provide 114 calories, 3.0g of sugar, 0.5g of fat and 0.4g of salt and with these value I feel comfortable giving these to my son without the wory that they contain too much fat, sugar or salt.

The box is to be stored in a cool dry place and once opened, in an airtight container. I actually opened my box about two weeks ago and just roll down the platic bag to keep the rice fresh and this has worked nicely and with the box not looking 'cheap' I don't mind it being on show, so to speak.

The cardboard packaging is widely recycled and the inner plastic should be checked at your local recycling.

There is an animated character of the box, of a red squirrel and on the reverse of the box there are several facts about the animal, which would be great for older children to learn and impress their teacher, classmates or relatives with.

I did not actually notice the first few times I served this to my son, but this crisp rice is MAGIC; it does the pop, crackle and snap thing that the other well known branded cereal does in reverse.

The taste to me is no different at all to the well known brand, the rice is crispy and well presented and goes soggy when it has been drenched in milk for about 5 minutes. Jake really enjoys this cereal and for the price I am really pleased.

I think that if you had a child who was a bit fussy about brands because they want the MAGIC then this is just as good as any other for a much more respectable price.

      I would highly recommend!!
