“ Brand: Asda / Type: Cereal „
This Cereal is Asda's Supermarket own brand version of Quakers Sugar Puffs. This cereal I always thought I was never that keen on, but the wife decided that she wanted to try these, and so I had a bowl and they were alright. Perhaps that is being a bit too generous. Oh, they aren't that bad.
They cost £1.72 and you only got these in a 750g box. I suppose I wish these were in a smaller box, and therefore the price would have been cheaper in case we didn't like them, but it was a case of take it or leave it.
The box looked alright. It looked bright with all the different colours and there was a big picture of a bowl of the Cereal on the front. The Cereal was in the inside of the box in a bag like usual. Although I think all Cereal is aimed at Kids, I notice that the Supermarket brands seem to have more animals and cartoon characters on them.
These are just bits of Puffed Wheat which are coated in Honey and Sugar. They feel a bit sticky, but not too much, and you can't feel the grains of sugar on them or that. They felt a bit tough, but when you bite into these, even without the Milk then they are soft inside.
Even when serving this with Milk they stay a bit hard, which is alright as I don't like soggy Cereal.
This didn't taste as strong a sweet taste as the brand name, which could be a good thing if you don't like really sweet Cereal. This had a nice sweetness and the Rice part tasted quite wholesome.
Would I buy these again? No. They were nice enough for what they were but they just aren't my style of Cereal.
