“ Brand: Asda / Type: Cereal „
I recently purchased this cereal as it cost only 66p - super cheap. I usually buy the Kellogg's Fruit and Fibre but have been trying to cut costs lately so thought it was worth a try.
The cereal can be found in the breakfast cereal isle in Asda, although the box is not very eyecatching so you might miss it. It comes in a white and green cardboard box, with a picture of a bowl full of the cereal on the front. It's quite plain and boring to look at but I guess that is partly how they can sell it for so cheap.
*NUTRITION AND INGREDIENTS*
The cereal contains: Whole wheat, raisins, sugar, toasted coconut, dried banana, dried apple and hazelnuts - all natural , healthy stuff.
A typical sized serving contains just 206 calories and 2.9 grams of saturated fat. It will also contain 7.9 grams of protein and 3.2 grams of fibre.
I ate this cereal with cold milk poured over it and found the taste very similar to the more expensive Kellogg's variety. It was crunchy, quite sweet and had lots of raisins added, although it could have done with more of the other dried fruits. There is no need to add sugar as the dried fruit added a touch of sweetness.
At only 66p this is really good value for money and it really does compare well to the more expensive brand, the only flaw is it being a little scant on the dried fruit. I like it because it is healthy and won't spoil my diet, and it is a great way to get more fibre into your body. It tastes great and can be enjoyed for breakfast or at any time as a healthy snack. After trying this I would not go back to paying more for a fruit and fibre cereal.
