Asda Wheat Bicks
Advantages: Cheaper and exactly the same
Disadvantages: I hadnt found them earlier!
I always have to have weetabix before I go to work mainly because it is the only cereal I have found which actually fills me up untill lunch time and secondly becasue it is proberly the healthiest type of cereal out there, however I find that buying weetabix can actually be quite expensive. Therefore on my next shopping trip I decided to buy Asda's own brand version.
The packaging is simplier then that of weetabix but I supose that is to be expected. It comes in a similar size and shaped box, and is yellow with Wheat Bisks written in red quite large in the centre. It also has a picture of these wheat bisks on the front and I have to admite that from this picture they look identical to weetabix!
Inside the wheat bisks are wraped in the same thin plastic as normal weetabix whch keeps them nice and fresh inside the box.
On removing the wheat bisks from their packaging and placing them in my bowl they are actually identical to the expensive brand. And even more surprsing they have the exact same taste, honestly if I hadnt known which box they were from I would think they were weetabix! They have the same wheat flavour!
When adding my milk I was half expecting them to crumble away but no! They kept there form and went soggy how weetabix should but didnt dissolve into the milk how I feared they would.
If you want my opnion and you buy weetabix save yourself a bit of my money and buy asdas own brand there really is no difference apart from the name!
Summary: If you buy weetabix buy these!
