Advantages: eatability, recycled packaging, healthy, sugar free
Disadvantages: price and the claim that it conatins enough for 15 bowls!
This is the kind of product that makes a healthy breakfast eatable. I am a muesli fan, but sometimes wading through a bowl seems like too much first thing in the morning. However, the addition of honey to this cereal (it is sugar-free otherwise) makes it more edible than traditional muesli. Because granola is a mix of lightly baked flakes and seeds, it makes good munching material, and this is just as delicious straight from the packet as it is with the addition of milk or yoghurt. There's nothing added to this mix of seeds, nuts, oats, rye and honey except for grapeseed oil, a dash of vanilla extract (supposedly because it brings out the flavour of the honey) and salt (less than 0.1g per 100g). It's just a shame that non- peanut, sesame and wheat people can't dive in- The ingredients doesn't list these things, but there's a warning against traces. However, there's happy news for veggies as the granola comes Vegetarian Society approved. At 484 calories per 100g and with all that oaty goodness packed in, it makes for a rather substantial breakfast. This product comes in bright friendly and classy (silver writing!) packaging, and along with it likes to make a point to its consumers that it's also 100% recycled fibre. It's 600g box claims to fill 15 bowls, but I have no idea how it would scrape past 7. Also in my experience it tends to disappear rather quickly because it is so delicious, so it sits firmly at the luxury end of the cereal spectrum for me.
Summary: A healthy and decadent breakfast cereal
