OMG have you tried Kellogs Crunchy Nut Cornflakes recently? If you've not I bet you've forgotten how good they taste! It's one of my favourite cereals ever but I try not to buy it very often as I can't resist it and it's not the healthiest option for breakfast.
I do believe Kelloggs is the best range for this type of cereal. In my opinion I have tried supermarket own brand versions but they never quite match up to Kelloggs. The packaging on this cereal is a bright golden colour and immediately catches your eye. It is a fairly standard cardboard box that they come in, with a little flap on the top which you can use to close the box and keep the cereal dry and crisp in between uses. Inside the box the cereal is packaged in a plastic wrapper, very similar to other cereals. It is easy to open the plastic bag and pour out the required amount of cereal (which is a lot if you have my portion size!)
This cereal contains flakes of corn very similar to normal cornflakes although these are a deeper golden colour. Clinging to the flakes are brown sugar, peanuts and honey - I imagine they have been dipped in the sticky mixture. They are incredibly crunchy, in fact if you're not careful like I'm not because I eat them so fast, you can accidentally scrape the inside of your mouth on the rough edges. If they sit in a milky bowl for a bit the flakes will go soggy so if you like them crunchy you need to eat them quickly like I do! There is a nutty sweet smell when you eat them which is pleasant enough but it isn't very strong. The taste is just amazing, all sweet and nutty and so so tasty! I think they are highly addictive though so be warned!
They are quite sugary and I wouldn't recommend it as part of a daily diet. In one serving there are 180 calories and 4g of fat which is higher than most other Kelloggs cereals. A 500g box costs £2.68 in Tescos which is similar to most other supermarkets too. I don't think this is very cheap at all for a box of cereal but as a treat it's definitely worth it!
