Advantages: Cheap

Disadvantages: Chewy, leathery, hard to eat

I have always been a fan of Kellogg's Fruit and Fibre so when I saw a similar product under the Morrison's own label, I decided to give it a try. It was a whole £1.50 cheaper than my regular brand so at £1.25 it had to be worth a try.

Now, I am not the world's best breakfast eater. I know that I should eat breakfast and I can manage it if it's quick, easy and I can eat it with out too much effort. This was quick and easy but eating it was a marathon task.

I got what I thought I was getting; a bowl of whole wheat flakes with bits of nuts and dried fruit in among, at least that's what I found once I had searched for the fruit. There were bits of apple, raisin, banana and coconut in there somewhere, according to the blurb on the outside of the box. There was so little that I had difficulty locating it.

In retrospect it is probably just as well that there was not more because it was the fruit (I'm assuming that's what it was) caused the problem. It was hard and chewy and very difficult to 'get rid of'. Certainly not my idea of a quick nutritious breakfast.

This cereal also contains 3.9 grams of fat per 30 gram serving and 13.1 grams of sugar. It is supposed to be a high fibre cereal but only contains 2.5 grams of fibre per serving.

To be honest the whole thing was a waste of my money because I threw it away. It was not what I had expected and chewing up leathery fruit and nuts first thing in the morning is not my idea of a good breakfast. I'll stick to Kellogg's where this kind of cereal is concerned.

Summary: OK if you don't chew your food before swallowing but if you do chew allow extra time for breakfast.
