Advantages: Easily stored, a snack for all seasons
Disadvantages: choosing
As a person who is currently trying to loose weight, as is hubbie, I think cereal has a lot to offer.
Of course some are packed fiull of sugar, but if you hunt around, some of them are low in cals/fat.
I never used to eat breakfast, but as part of my diet I have started. I find special k with peaches and apricots reallygood. I have an incredibly sweet tooth- prob why I'm on a diet, but find with this I don't need to add any sugar/sweetner.
Later in the evening I will often find myself turning back to cereal, instead of a sweet/chocolate etc.
Now this is where the seasons impact- if its a cold evening, I'm after weetabix, with warm milk, or shredded wheat with warm milk.
On a warm summers evening its shreddies, or conrnflakes, with ice cold milk.
I guess thats the winning formula with cereal. There is just so much choice- if I'm feeling really decadent I may go for a bowl of sugars puffs- wild creature that i am. I hark back to being a child and having golden nuggets with Klondike pete- anyone remember them?
I have a dedicated cereal cupboard in my kitchen, and its always topped up. If all else fails there is something to eat.
Plus I have lost 1 stone 6 pounds in 2 months.
So thanks to you cereal
