“ Brand: Nestle / Type: Cereal „
Cheerio Crunchers at last! I say 'at last' because this product was advertised on the side of other cheerios boxes and on television, for quite a while before they appeared. So, was it worth the wait? The cheerios themselves are the same, light, slightly bland and a little quick to go soggy. The crunchers are just as crunchy and tasty as in boxes of Nestle Clusters, and the marriage of the two concepts is very pleasing. Even when the cheerios themselves go soggy, the crunchers are there to add a welcome change of texture. The sweetness they bring to the mix is also an improvement on the original. The box is clearly aimed at children, which is a shame for older cereal fans, especially as the addition of the crunchers could be a valuble tool in winning over the adult audience. The box contains 375g of cereal which makes it quite pricey considering there are only a few breakfasts in there but it is worth the investment to bring some crunchy goodness to your breakfast.
This is a new cereal from Nestle and it is marketed as such however in my opinion, it is more of a new concept from nestle, moxing together two of the cereals they allready had. I found the box I bought in Tesco on offer as an introductory offer it was about £1 for the 375g box. Pretty good value I think but at over £2 for the box, I think it is a bit pricey. Basically, this cereal is normal cheerios (rice, corn, oats and wheat) with the yummy bits from the clusters cereal mixed in. In other words, they've taken out the bran sort of flakes from the clusters, and replaced them with cheerios. The box is a standard cereal box, with a big bowl of cereal and milk on the front, and of course, the Nestle green wholegrain banner at the top. Also on the front are a range of wierd looking alien things, presumably to make this cereal appeal to children however it was very high up on the shelf so I doubt this theory would work. There are also the same style moster things on the back all smiling and professing about how good this new cereal is. Bit creepy if you ask me. Anyways, the combination of the cereals does work and it makes the cheerios seem a little sweeter. They taste nice with milk on them and the clusters don't go soggy unless you leave them for ages. The thing I have founf most annoying though (and it might just be me or this box) but there aren't actually many clusters in the box. I thought there were in the first two bowls, but for example the bowl i had this morning, had none in at all. It was literally just a normal bowl of cheerios. I don't know if I need to shake the box first, or if they are all put in last, or if they rise to the top but anyway. Looking in the box too now, there doesn't seem to be a great deal more left to be had of the clusters. All in all it is a nice new cereal while its on offer but I dont think I would bother at full price.
