Tesco Value Coco Snaps
Advantages: Great Price. Decent Taste. Stays Crunchy For Quite A While. Packaging Possibly More Eco Friendly.
Disadvantages: Not Quite As Nice As A Brand Name. You'll Need A Container To Put Them In.
I nearly always shop at Tesco. Not out of loyalty but simple because they are nearest. Because of this I have had lots of their value items as I am always keen to try to save money on groceries.
Tesco Value Coco Snaps are an own brand equivalent of Kellogg's Coco Pops. The price is what will attract your attention. 66p for a bag (not box) of 375 grams. The same size box of Coco Pops would cost way over £1.50 & even if it was in a special offer the price would still struggle to get down so low. So this is a good start.
Opening th bag is no problem, but you probably will need a cereal container to put them in (which will cost extra to start off with). For me, they look slightly larger & also a little lighter brown than Coco Pops.
While you are eating them, you will notice a difference. The cereal is not as chocolatey as the brand name version. I'm not saying that I don't like it because I do & I still prefer to buy these, but there is a difference. Also, the milk does go chocolatey, but not as much as it would have done if you had bought Kellogg's. I put this down to not being covered in as much cocoa which would also explain the slightly lighter colour. One thing that is pretty similar is the crunh factor. These don't go soggy quickly & are still crunchy at the end. Just as good as a brand name at this.
I do recommend them. If you want to save money, they are a good alternative to the more expensive boxes. They do taste of chocolate & are easily eatable. However you do get what you pay for & to be fair to Coco Pops, they are a better product
Summary: A good product that can save you money if you're happy with them.
