**Nutritious details and ingredients**
Weetabix are made from whole grains, so it is a filling breakfast and one that's good for you. The whole grains mean it full of all the good stuff we need such as iron, vitamin B and carbs for energy and to help you keep going until lunch time!!
A typical serving of 2 weetabix (37.5grams) contains 127 calories and 0.2grams of saturated fat. It will give you 3.8grams of fibre and 4.3grams of protein. 95% of the ingredients are whole grains, the other ingredients include malted barley extract, salt, sugar, folic acid, niacin, Thiamin (B1) and Riboflavin (B2). A serving of 2 Weetabix gives 32% of the recommended daily allowance for an adult of vitamins and minerals needed!!
Weetabix can be served with cold milk, warm milk, topped with sugar or fresh fruit or without milk and topped with yoghurt and fruit. So it is a versatile breakfast meaning you can eat it differently day to day.
**Weetabix in my family household**
Weetabix is a cereal I have eaten since being a young child. My parents ate it for breakfast and now my son eats it for breakfast. My daughter for some unknown reason is not a fan but she's very fussy with food. My partner likes his with cold milk and fruit, usually raisans , bananas or strawberries as you get the sweetness from the fruit and are getting the fibre and wholegrains from the Weetabix and part of your 5 a day fruit from the toppings. I have to have mine with cold milk and just a little sprinkling of low calorie sugar. My partner likes to mush his weetabix up where as I leave mine whole and eat them that way. My son likes only a little milk so they are still a little crunchy....so it just shows how differently they can be eaten and how you change vary the flavour they give. It is a verstile breakfast!
I suffer from IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and have found that eating Weeatabix every morning actually helps my digestive system. I was actually advised by my consultant to have them every night too before bed which will help my IBS, and I do this occasionally but not all the time as even though they are quite low in calories I am really trying to lose weight and cut back on calories consumed.
Weetabix are a product I buy every week and when I run out it's a tradegy and I have to rush out and get some for the next days breakfast. I love them so much that my partner asked me to give them up for a week, which I did (to prove I had willpower) but I really didn't enjoy my breakfast those days I went without. The cereal is one that is good for you and your body and are good for trying to lose weight as it's easy to just pop 2 out of the wrapper and add fruit or a little milk or yoghurt to. It's a cereal which all my family enjoy (apart from my fussy daughter who really is fussy) and isn't over expensive compared to some other types of cereal, I think a box of 24 cost about £1.90 depending where you shop.
Summary: The best cereal by far!! On my shopping list every week!!
