      A Great Breakfast for all.

I have bought Weetabix Weetaflakes on a number of occasions now and am a big fan. I usually buy the 375g box for the small price of 99p at Home Bargains, although I would probably pay more. The Weetaflakes are made by Weetabix and are Crispy Wholegrain Wheat and Rice Flakes. They are very crunchy and as you would expect from a reputable company like Weetabix they are extremely fresh and kept this way by a grease proof bag in a cardboard box.

According to the box they are low in fat, high fibre, wholegrain and have the goodness of weetabix in a flake. Personally I find them a little boring by themselves and I always add whatever fruit I have available - usually rasins, grapes, strawberries or rasberries. I also use skimmed milk and I think this makes for a healthy breakfast.

It also states on the packaging that all the breakfast cereals of the Weetabix Food Company aew made from wholegrains, which we all know are extrremely good for you. In fact a whopping 96% of the box is made up of Wholegrain Wheat and Rice. Other ingredients include Sugar, Malted Barley Extract, Salt, Niacin, Iron, Pantothenic Acid (B5), Thiamin (B1) Vitamin B6, Riboflavin (B2), Folic Acid, Vitamin B12

In each 30g serving there is only 106kcal. The sodium content is 0.12g which is the equivalent of 0.30g in salt.

It also states on the box that the product contains wheat and barley. It also says it may contain traces of nuts and milk.

This cereal comes very highly recommended. However I think you will find it nicer if you add fruit. I have had no negative feedback from the family either and this cereal is always first to go, so I give it 5 stars.

        I highly recommend trying Weetaflakes

When you open these, they look similar to special K. However they are much healthier for you because they are made from whole grains and don't have a lot of sugar. Another good thing I noticed is that they are very low in salt. If you are doing the special K diet you could have these instead because they are just as filling without the sugar. I expected them to taste normal weetabix; but they didn't. They taste like a wholegrain special K.

I you have them with semi - skimmed milk (depending on how much you have) there should only be about 170 cals approx (at the most per bowl). It is a healthy way to start the day and is weetaflakes are very filling. These are good if you can't be bothered with the flaky mess weetabix can make. Some wholegrain cereals are a bit plain but weetaflakes taste great.

New Weetaflakes are deliciously crispy multigrain wheat and rice flakes - and a great way to start your day. Crammed with natural wholegrain goodness, Weetaflakes are high in fibre and low in fat so they're ideal for all the family. You'll love them on their own with a little cold milk, or why not try adding some chopped fresh or dried fruit for something a little different? Either way we're sure Weetaflakes will soon become a ‘must have' addition to the breakfast table!
