USRobotics Broadband Router 8000 ... Robotics have always been a make I have considered trustworthy, but this router has shaken my faith in them somewhat. I would probably still buy another product made by them as a second chance but they don t hold the great brand label any more. I bought this router after deciding that my existing setup (my main machine as the internet gateway, and then between two and five other machines connected through a hub) just wasn t working. For the geeks out there I did consider (and try) some alternatives such as using an old machine as a dedicated gateway with some software such as Smoothwall, but problems with network card drivers quickly ruled that out - I wish I ... Netgear DG814 ... recently bought one of these to go with my NTL connection. In short it works like a charm. I plugged it in, went through the instructions and it picked up the internet connection from the NTL modem and away I went. I ve got my PC plugged into one of the ports and my girlfriend is connected wirelessly. I can still connect another 3 people onto the wired part or if I want more just plug in a switch. I ve had no problems with this at all, I really did just follow the instructions and away it went. The wirelss range is good, It transmits across the house without a problems and through a small number of walls, I havn t tested it further tho. I d just like to say that I ... Draytek Vigor 2600 ... ve been through 5 different routers all have been poor until this one. This may cost a bit more than the d-link, netgear etc ones but it s well worth the money! It has been stable ever since we purchased it in Dec 2004, it has never crashed as many cheaper routers do, since the last power cut we had it s been connected 24/7. It has a port in the back for a USB printer, which also works fine. Draytek i have heard have excellent support (never used them myself as i have had no need). There are no bad points really, the only thing, and i mean the only thing i can think of is what it looks like, they could have made it a bit more curvy... Which doesn t really matter as l...
