The routers help protect the purchase investment and eliminate hidden upgrade costs by being equipped with 64MB operating memory and full feature operating software with widely-used routing and security features, including: IP/IPX Routing, OSPF, BGP-4, QoS, Multicast, 802.1Q VLAN, VPN, Firewall, and more.

The 3Com Router 3018 includes one high-speed E1 port operating in full unframed E1, fractional E1, channelized E1 or ISDN PRI mode.

The router is designed for a remote branch of an enterprise and includes 64MB of memory and full feature software that is standard on the 3000 family. The router has a built-in 10/100 auto-sensing Ethernet port for LAN connectivity, a console port for direct management access, plus an auxiliary port that can be used as a 115, 200 baud serial interface or for connection to an external modem either as a back-up port data path or management access.
