a good router at a competative price

i got this router when i set up my broadband and home phone account with talk talk and when i realised how much the retail price of this was i have to say im impressed as when i took out broadband with o2 they really did cheap out on a rubbish built own branded router.

im not sure how complicated a router should be to set up as i only have two to compare it to and they were a bit of a nightmare but this literally just plugged in to the power supply, connected my phone cable in the back and all the lights went green within around 45seconds and that was me connected to my wireless broadband. its extremely quick (this may have something to do with the fact that me and my girlfriend are connecting brand new laptops) and never has any problems. occasionally around once a week my laptop wont connect as it says the IP address is unavailable but i just press reset on the router and hey presto! 45secs later your back online without any problems.

the deal is i get unlimited broadband with superfast download speeds (doesnt say how fast to cover themselves i guess) however il put this into prespective...

peak times a 1gb file can take upto 5 hours to download, after 00:00 the same size file takes only 20 minutes, so off peak movie downloading is brilliant and even during peak hours i occasionally play online games on the xbox 360 and i have no problem hosting and connecting to servers so its still fast and manages to keep up with the demand.

contains four ethernet ports so is ideal for small office and home use

overall i think id buy one of the belkin N routers if using it for high levels of downloads during peak hours but for something that came as a freebie with an extremely great value for money broadband package id be very happy to open the box and see this. a net gear or belkin router of this standard would set you back a little more so its great value for money. a good router at a competative price.

im going to give reliability full marks but only because nothing has gone wrong with it yet as its only a month old. i will update later in the year to let you know if it has stood the test of time
