The routers include a stateful firewall to prevent denial of service attacks, offer access control list (ACL) and virtual local area network (VLAN) support to restrict traffic flow, and include an 802.1X supplicant. To support an increasingly mobile workforce, the 7000dl series provides optional IPSec VPN termination to allow remote users to connect to their corporate office over the Internet.

Using an industry-standard command line interface (CLI), the Secure Router 7000dl Series is designed to minimize the amount of training or certification required to support configuration. The routers reduce complexity with a feature-rich graphics user interface (GUI) that allows for easy configuration of the firewall, ACLs and VPN connections.

The 7102dl router includes two slots to support modular WAN interface cards and is designed to support up to four T1/E1 connections.
