The FBR-1430 VPN router has been designed for users that commute between the office, home and other locations. By creating a secured tunnel over the Internet (VPN tunnel), the FBR-1430 enables secured connections between these different locations. By accessing the Internet via a VPN tunnel a direct line is created to the user data source without facing security issues concerning the unsafe transfer of sensitive data over the Internet.

The VPN Router has a 100BaseT Ethernet port for connecting a DSL or cable modem for shared Internet access. NAT service is provided for a secured LAN. The FBR-1430 supports PPPoE, PPTP, SingTel RAS, Telstra Big Pond as well as "Direct Support" type connectivity services.

The FBR-1430 features a 4-port 10/100BaseT switching hub for establishing or extending the LAN. The switch features DHCP for dynamic IP address allocation to connected devices, RIP support for a multi-segment LAN, and VPN Pass-through supporting PPTP, L2TP and IPSec. It further features easy to configure Virtual Server support allowing users to access Internet services on the LAN.

The FBR-1430 provides for basic and advanced security features. Basic security features include URL Filtering, Internet Access Logging, Password Protection, NAT, SPI (Stateful Packet Inspection) and DoS attack protection.

The advanced security features include a Rule-based Policy Firewall for setting up personal rules for allowing or denying data packets on data ports. It supports IPSec standards including IKE and certificates. The VPN support of the FBR-1430 allows for creating up to 10 high-performance VPN tunnels for secured network access. The encryption engine maintains a high data throughput even when using 3DES encryption. The FBR-1430 also provides easy to set-up Microsoft VPN Gateway with PPTP VPN Server and Windows Client support.

The FBR-1430 VPN Broadband Router allows for easy set and configuration through its Web-based user interface. It allows for remote management via the LAN or if configured, over the Internet. It further supports UPnP for establishing automatic connections to other UPnP devices.
