Advantages: It can detangle the hair (but only by using a lot of the product)
Disadvantages: Cheap looking bottle, it does not thicken the hair and it smells heavily of chemicals

A LITTLE ABOUT THE BRAND/SALONS/WEBSITE
------------------------------------------------- ---
Bumble and bumble originated as a company in New York and when I heard the company was 33 years old it did shock me slightly because I had never heard of the brand prior to my friend suggesting a product about it. I also did not realise that there was a hair salon for Bumble and bumble about 30 minutes away from me, I found this out on their website by typing in my postcode and it showed me on a map where my closest salon was. I assumed all the salons were probably London based. I tend to use mainly Tigi or Aveda products. I purchased this product online at http://www.bumbleandbumble.co.uk. Buying online with Bumble and bumble was very simple and they often have offers on such as, at the moment if you spend over £25.00 you receive free delivery and a free 30ml thickening hairspray.

BB PREP BOTTLE AND PACKAGING
-------------------------------------
The one and only product I have purchased from Bumble and bumble is this Bb Prep in a 250ml pump spray action plastic bottle. The bottle is white, the pump is black (and it pumps easily) and the label is lime- green with black writing. The Bb logo stands out with a nice font, however, I do think that the bottle looks a little too bland and it does not look like an expensive product which I class it to be. I prefer can bottles for products like this. The product did not come in a box, just the bottle.

PRICE
-------
I purchased it for £14.50 on the website. There was also a 50ml of it for £5.00 which I guess is either perfect for trying as a brand new product or great as a travel bottle. I should have gone for that option and maybe trialled a few products at small travel sizes because I was rather disappointed with this product.

WHAT DOES THE BB PREP DO?
----------------------------------
When I read and heard about the Bb prep it sounded like the best all round product to make fine hair look thicker and healthier yet with it still being a lightweight product. In addition to this it is supposed to detangle hair and be rich with vitamins to condition the hair and scalp. The website further describes which the bottle instructions does not that this product works better on natural coloured hair rather than coloured hair. My hair has been coloured in the past but is now virtually back to my original colour (I have let it grow out).
-----------------
INSTRUCTIONS
-----------------
The instructions on the product suggest to spray it onto damp or dry hair which initially sounds great because it is giving you the different options. However, on dry hair it made my hair a little bit greasy. The instructions then suggest to massage it into the scalp and comb it through the hair. I followed the instructions to a T! But the results were not what I was expecting!

MY EXPERIENCE
------------------
My first big disappointment was the smell of the product. My friend had said it was wonderful, however, to me it smells horribly full of chemicals. I also asked my boyfriend to smell it to check it was not just me and he said it was not initially a nice smell but that the smell does not linger so it is not a problem. However, as I said I tend to use Aveda or Tigi hair products which both always smell incredible of natural products or of fruit so the smell was a definite let down!
My second disappointment was that it did not seem to thicken my hair in the slightest, my hair is very fine but it is quite long. I have used other thickening products in the past from Tigi and found they can manage to thicken my hair. But this one despite not weighing my hair down just did not do a lot.
Thirdly I did find that it detangled my hair but only after spraying my hair about 6 times with it which to me seems like a lot of product to be using.
It is difficult to say whether it conditioned my scalp and hair however, for it to condition it I would expect my hair to perhaps look shinier than normal which it did not or for it to feel silkier which it did not.

OVERALL
----------
Overall, I will not purchase this product again. To be honest I will not purchase any product from Bumble and bumble again, I was hugely disappointed and next time I see my friend who raved about it I will give her the rest of mine to continue using! However, despite my disappointment I do not want to put people off the entire brand because they may have some fab products but unfortunately this for me was not one of them and it has put me off purchasing from them again.
For the same price of this product I can get an equivalent from Tigi which I have liked using in the past which smells lovely and does the job it says it does!
The website describes this as 'a MUST for fine or normal hair' but I would have to change this to a 'a MUST NOT for fine or normal hair'.
Summary: A prep spray by Bumble and bumble to condition, thicken and detangle the hair
