~~ Introduction ~~

I have noticed a lot of people on here reviewing speaker systems for computers and such, often they seem to say that the cables for the speakers aren't long enough for their room and they can't position them where they would ideally like them to be placed, especially for the rear speakers which are likely to be a lot further away. That is why I have chosen to review this Fisual phono extension cable which enables you to lengthen the cable so that this is all possible.


~~ Company Background ~~

Fisual are a company that specialise in producing quality AV cables for home cinema systems and Hi-Fis at a brilliant value for money price. They sell a range of different products from a good quality value range called the install series to a extremely high quality and more expensive Hollywood series. They keep there prices very low and affordable by not selling in high-street stores. They sell directly to their affiliated websites and cut out the middle men.

Fisual take a new look on advertising, they don't. They rely purely on the quality of their products and the people who buy them to spread the good word. In my opinion this is brilliant it shows that they truly do make quality products if they don't need to advertise and can generate enough interest and get enough sales from people recommending them to each other. They are right to be so confident hence the fact that I am sitting here keeping the good word going on this amazing company.


~~ Product Design ~~

I purchased the 5m version of the Fisual Install Series Phono cable for the reasonable sum of £6.99. When it arrived I was immediately surprised by the quality of it. I had recently purchased a cheaper cable for £1.99 which I was very dissatisfied with so decided to replace it with the Fisual. Each of the Fisual cables were wider then both of the cheaper cables put together which made me feel confident that it was going to perform better.

The cables themselves are made of a nice thick, dark blue rubber which feels very solid and oozes quality. At either end of the cable there is a male connector made from quite solid feeling metal, it didn't look like it was going to break any time soon like some of the rubber ended ones which can sometimes split. The connectors themselves are gold plated which means the signal will be transferred more effectively and with less distortion meaning a better end quality sound. The connector itself fitted very snugly into the port on the back of my subwoofer. They other thing that I did have to purchase with this a coupler to connect the male speaker cable to the Fisual cable but that was no problem and I got it from the same place.


~~ Sound Test ~~

Like a said before I had ordered a very cheap cable before I had purchased this one which I found muffled the sound and caused so much resistance that my rear speakers were barely audible at full volume, even with the front speakers unplugged. When I first plugged in the Fisual cable I was overwhelmed the sound was a million times better and for the first time I could actually here the rear speakers and got a true sense of a surround sound experience. I even tested with and without the extension cable in place and could not notice a difference which is brilliant showing that very little or no sound quality is lost with this cable. I was very impressed with the sound quality transferred by this cable it all sounded really crisp and clear and was glad that this was money well spent and that I hadn't just forked out for a more expensive cable that gave the same results.


~~ Packaging ~~

Packaging is another one of Fisual's unique sands that don't follow other companies in wrapping their cables in layer upon layer of packaging and putting it in a nice little box. They send it in a clear plastic bag with a small slip of paper which is your invoice and then that is put in a brown bubble wrap bag for protection. I thought that this was very clever not only does it cut down on production costs which are passed on to the customer it reduces environmental impact which everyone is becoming more concerned about these days I must say I agree with their ethic I don't need a pretty looking box especially if I am ordering off the internet all I want is the product inside.


~~ Summary ~~

Overall I was extremely impressed with this cable not only did it feel like quality but it also performed brilliantly too, one thing that puzzles me now though is how much better can their more expensive ranges be if this is what you get from their basic range.
I am currently using it with my Logitech X-540 5.1 surround system on my computer and am very pleased with cable and service Fisual provided delivery only took one or two days.

I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this cable or company to anyone I knew and think that it is brilliant that they survive purely on word of mouth. Now I feel that I have done my bit for them which was well deserved.
