“ Brand: La Cafetiere / Type: Manual / Subcategory: Coffee Press „
What do you get when you put a cafetiere and a hot chocolate frother together? A chocolatiere!!!
This is a black and white ceramic pot in the style of a cafetiere, you apply the hot chocolate granules and pour the milk in once you have warmed it up to the right temperature you like and then pour on top of the milk. The best thing to do is only fill up a quarter of the way or half the pot maximum, any more than that and you will risk a chocolate carnage all over your kitchen!
When you plunge down as you would with a cafetiere, you keep retracting the plunger until you mix the powder and milk and create a foam topping as you would a normal hot chocolate.
You can use any milk, any type of chocolate and get the same results.
This is a little hard work and the foam develops better with fresh milk.
Although this is a ceramic pot, it feels extremely light and quite cheap and you almost get a sense this couldn't last but it is effective, easy to clean and fun for any hot chocolate lover.
We also use this, as recommend by the company, to make milkshakes, so this doubles up nicely as a product to get more use out of it.
You will have to hold this down well when using the plunger, but in their newer designs they have now attached a silicon mat.

I purchased mine from Whittard of Chelsea a few years ago for £20 but would love to update now as they have a range of colours online and choice, prices vary so best to shop around,
