Advantages: Compact, light weight, easy to use, many record effects, long battery life and a great way to capture prescious moments.
Disadvantages: None
My husband got my Canon G1000 in October 2000 as an early christmas pressy so that we could record our sons 1st birthday.
He paid £349 at the time and included with the camcorder was an accessories pack which consisted of a camcorder case, battery pack and 8mm tape so that we could start recording straight away. Since our purchase we have found it cheeper £299 but I am not sure if the accessories are included in the price.

Our camcorder has given us hours of fun and enjoyment from recording birthdays, christmas, the birth of our daughter and even our 16 month old son asleep in his dinner.
My only regret is not to getting one sooner has we have had so many special times as a family that will remain in our memories but not recorded for us or our children to look back.
