Canon G45Hi:
... owns this camcorder and he lent it to me recently when we were on holiday. I thoroughly enjoyed using this and for anyone who needs to feel something in their hands when filming, this is for you. Being Hi8, the video quality is far from brilliant, but for filming things like holidays and outings, it s all you need and it s a refreshing change from the itsy-bitsy little things you get on sale nowadays (this is... Sony CCD-TRV218 Handycam ... look complicated but the buttons are easily marked and very simple to use. It really didn’t take me long to be able to set the thing up and start recording. Although of course I had to chare the thing for a good few hours before there was enough battery life to do anything with it. The tapes are easy to put in and take out and the Hi8 tapes are widely available both here and abroad as I found out when I ran out of tape on holiday in Spain and they are priced fairly reasonably for a packet of 3 or 5. Charging the camcorder up for the initial time took around six hours for complete power and since then has not taken that long unless I have run the thing to a compl... Canon G45Hi ... purchased the Canon G45Hi Camcorder, I can only give it praise. If anyone wants to start out with a first, then it has to be the one. Ease of use when filming. The end results can be watched on TV. If you have a DVD recorder you can convert your home movies to DVD. It is an analogue camcorder not a digital, so dont expect to connect it to your PC. As long as this is clear, and you are looking for a great little camcorder, then this is the one for you. I would not swap mine for anything.... Sony CCD TRV 218 ... t reflects on the image quality as cheaper lenses need additional corrective electronics and still fail to deliver the same high quality of image. WEIGHT This is my only beef about this camera. Obviously in these days of mini cameras and digital recording anything that still records on a Hi8 tape is going to seem large but this is by any comparison quite a brick. If you feel embarrassed getting your phone out in public, this may not be the product for you. Likewise if you work undercover for a detective agency this is not a hidden camera.
