Hi8 takes the same size films but is about 100 times better quality. Its like watching a documentary on "the Cook report". Its that sort of quality. Its worth an extra 30 or 40 pounds to get a Hi8 camera. Digital cameras ,as were explained to me, a bit like 4,000 HI fi systems. Camcorders have always been viewed in my family as an extravagant toy. Something that is not essential to everyday life. "A normal Camera is just as good" they exclaimed. Well after seeing a few wedding videos and holiday films that other people had made, I decided to bite the bullet, and buy one for my honeymoon. For one of the cheaper models of camcorder this is an excellent buy. It allows you to create proffesional looking videos without too much expense and hassle. It takes 8mm tapes, which cost about 13 quid for 5. The tapes can be used again and again until they deteriorate in quality. When you have recorded your scene you simply plug it in to the TV and you can watch it in full colour and then transfer on to a VHS tape as you wish. It can be a bit fiddly setting up the TV to begin with, but once you get the hang of it its simple enough. For old models of TV it might be advisable to seek advice, because you need audio/video in plugs or a scart socket. ...
