A fantastic camcorder, its size and features make this a great buy.

The Sony handycam series in my opionin is the leading group in the camcorder market. The new edition CCD TRV 82 is a completly reliable easy to use device, for those who are technology illeterate do not fear. the sony although boasting many impressive features, hence the large selection of modes and settings (number of buttons) is still very easy to pick up and you will be recording in no time. The video quality is outstanding, i personanly took the camcorder to a tennis tournament on holiday and the quality displayed is good enough that even on a 38" tv the viewing is still pleasurable. The camcorder to tv link system is a great feature of the handycam. The battery life offers anything from 2 hours to 3 and a half depending on use of extras such as night vision, black and white mode and constant zoom control. The camcorder also serves well enough as a still taker, however i would not recommend this as a permenant digital camera as the still offers a 0.3 megapixel still rate.

I have owned this camera for several years. The only thing that I had to repair was the box assembly which cost me about $ 250 dollars to replace. This is the area that opens where you insert the tape. This camera has the largest monitor I have ever seen on a camcorder - four inches diagonally. Most newer cameras and the ones that followed the TRV-82 have much smaller monitors. A perfect camera.
