Acme Antik Sexy Little Pouch
After admiring my mum's purchase of a rather nice white and black funky floral design camera carry case on a night out, I decided to look into getting myself something similar. She had hers while we were out at a nice restaurant for dinner and drinks, and it really looked discrete and more like a purse than a chunky camera case. When I did a quick search online I came across a selection of Acme camera case products available on Amazon and elsewhere. I decided that the Acme Antik sexy camera little pouch was the one for me.
This camera pouch is really very small and I have a tiny camera that just fits in here. More often than not I prefer to use my husband's camera and although I would say that his is an average size it really is a bit too big for this camera case to comfortably hold. Before you consider getting this it is worth checking to make sure your camera will fit into the pouch. The product dimensions; 6.4 x 2.8 x 9.5 cm - according to Amazon. The camera case is smaller than any other one I own, so beware to check if it is compatible with your camera before you purchase.
The picture above shows the dark purple colour, however, I own the black version. The case also has a floral design in a different shade of black all around it. It is a rather smart looking case and is great for those occasions where you are out in your little black dress, rather than having to carry around a chunky more conventional looking camera case you can use this stylish design.
As with many camera and laptop cases this is made from soft yet strong and durable neoprene material. It is not a hard case so it will not stop it from getting damaged if you drop or bash the case, but it will help to protect the camera from scratches or rubbing up against other items in your bag.
The inside of the camera case is very soft and it has never scratched or left any marks on my camera or Ipod.
The camera case is easy to close and it is possible to leave the camera wrist strap out to use that to carry both the combined camera with case on. The zip looks like a quality product and I have had no problems with it so far.
When I first saw my mum's Acme camera case I thought that it must have cost her quite a lot, when she explained she'd picked it up for a tenner I was determined to get one for myself. The black Antik sexy camera pouch is available to buy for around £7, it really does look like it costs much more than that. Personally, I really like my camera pouch and I think that it is a really good product for an excellent price. Overall, in my opinion I think that this product is great value for money.
I also use this camera case on and off to store my Ipod Nano whenever I am going away for a weekend. It really is a handy little case that looks much more attractive and stylish than a lot of the cases available to buy.
This gets a four out of five stars from me, just make sure that your camera would fit. This makes a great camera case to bring along on evenings out when you are a bit dressier. However, it is worth bearing in mind that this is only minimal protection for a camera more is probably more suited for nights out or for storage in another bag. I would recommend this to other people because I have been really pleased with mine and so far even after quite a lot of use and storage it still looks every bit as good as the day I bought it.
I'm quite lucky because I don't see my aunts and uncles all that often, but when I do they bring me presents! I ended up with this camera case at a family wedding a few weeks back, my aunt actually took her camera out of it to give the case to me because I said how gorgeous it was and how rubbish my case looked next to it!
It's made out of a shiny wet look plastic, I think if you was to start peeling it away it would be something cheap like a cardboardy case covered in like latex or something.... I'm not going to start digging at my case though because I love it and I don't want to end up ruining it!
It opens and closes with a zip, the zip starts halfway up one side goes round the top and then comes halfway down the other side. That means the case doesn't open up all that wide but it's enough to slide my camera in, there's a special cuff that is made of the same material of the lining that protects cameras from being scratched by the zip.... it's the same idea as when you've bought a zip up toddler outfit and you get that little tag to stop the zip catching on their chin.
The lining isn't all that thick so the case relies on the rigid outside to protect your camera. It does seem quite sturdy even though it looks more like a fashion accessory than anything else.
This won't hold massive cameras, mine is a Sony Cyber Shot and they are very small. I think you'd get a slightly bigger camera in the case but there isn't much room so I definately say you should check the size of the inside of the case before you buy it. Looking on Amazon the internal dimensions are 9.5cm x 5.6cm x 2.5cm so you should be able to work it out from that.
I think this is a gorgeous little camera case and I loved it as soon as I saw it. The only problem I've got with it is that there isn't a strap attached to the actual case, you can slide the wrist strap of your camera through the zip part but it's a bit fiddly and actually I'd rather just stuff that strap into the case with the camera and have a strap that is on the case. That would make things a lot easier but it's not a big problem just something that would be nice to have.
