I first came across the Crumpler brand a few years ago when we bought a new digital camera and needed a case for it. We popped into our local camera shop and came across the PP 55 case which lasted us well until we lost it. When looking to replace it we once again looked to Crumpler and ended up buying the PP70 case in black although other colours are available.

Using the case
Made of neoprene which gives the case a slightly shiny look and makes it smooth to the touch, I really like the look of this case. Neoprene is waterproof and so is ideal to protect your camera when you are out in wet conditions.
The case has a Crumpler logo badge on the front and stitching round it which makes it stand out from other cases. The Crumpler logo is also on the zip fastener and the fastener is a decent size making the sturdy zip easy to open.
This case comes with a strap which our earlier version didn't, this always annoyed me as I had to put the camera in a certain way so that the strap on the camera could be left hanging out to use. I was pleased to see that Crumpler had added a strap.
This case is approx. 9.5 x 6.5 x 3.0 cm and my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX12 fits inside perfectly, the case is slightly stretchy giving it a good fit around the camera. My camera has always been protected well by this case when it is in my handbag and although I've never dropped it on a hard surface the camera has survived being dropped on carpet in this case on more than one occasion. The size of this case would also make it suitable for an ipod or mobile phone and mine fits in the case neatly.
Inside the case is a mesh pocket on one side which is ideal for keeping the spare memory card so it is always to hand if needed. This pocket could also be used for headphones but I have never used it for this purpose.

Price and availability
I can't remember how much we paid for our case but it is currently available from Amazon with a RRP of £15.00. Prices do vary on Amazon depending on colour, currently (November 2012) the black version is £7.05 with free delivery but you can buy the case in silver or brown for just £3.95 making it a great value case.

Would I recommend?
Yes, this is a high quality camera case and although hopefully I won't be needing to buy another one soon if I did it would be Crumpler for me again.
