Canon EF400mm F/5.6 L USM Lens:
... used to own canons 100-400 f/4.5 - 5.6 IS L lens (canons most popular zoom) and I loved it, ok it was affectionately known as the dust pump, but I started to notice that friends were achieving much sharper images straight from camera than I was, the reason they had primes (fixed focal) i had a zoom. Well as you can imagine I couldn t have that so I looked into what prime I could get, surprisingly at a little under... Read the full review: A top quality prime by beolens |

Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens ... I first bought my digital SLR, it came with a free lens, and I was happy to use this for the snapshots I was taking, I had a decent zoom (100-400 f4.5-5.6 L) which I used most of the time so wasn t too bothered about much else. But as I started to take different styles of photos I realised my kit lens was really limited, couldn t get the close ups I wanted, and the sharpness was lacking. So I took the plunge and bought a really good prime lens (as opposed to a zoom) the canon 100 mm f/2.8 USM macro lens, and I am so glad I did. First the technical stuff, weighing in at 21.1 ounces you get a nice sturdy feel that is still handholdable (real word?) with ease. 3.1 inc... Read the full review: A five star lens. by beolens |

Canon EF 50mm f1.8 MK2 ... was asked to photgraph my brother in laws band as a favour to them, as a keen amature I lept at the chance as it was something I had never done before, however on my first attempt I was limited to the standard lens that came with my canon 20D camera and the results were less than pleasing, I struggled with the low light and getting back grounds blurred. Afer this dissapointment I realsied I needed a quick (low aperture) lens, and with limited budget was struggling, then I found the Nifty Fifty, canons 50mm 1.8 mark 2 lens, and boy has it improved my photography!! My second attempt at shooting the band was a dream, the low lighting combined with the superb image quality... Read the full review: Canons Nifty Fifty by beolens |

Canon EF 50mm f1.8 MK2 ... am a budding wedding and portrait photographer, and for the last wedding I shot (that expression does ammuse me!) I wanted a fast lens that would allow me to throw the background completly out of focus. I opted for this lens because it offered me the focal length (even with the 1.6 factor bumping it up) and speed I was looking for, for a very reasonable price. I have taken some of my best photographs with this lens, it really does deliver, I have had no problems with sharpness of the subjects as I know one reviewer here was unhappy with this. The lens itself is small and increadibly light, the build quality is representative of the price, in other words it feels che... Read the full review: Great lens for the price by sperato |
