Advantages: Great for potrait and night shots

Disadvantages: Cheap construction

I've owned this lens for about six months now. First impression was it is very light and plastic. I've not had any problems with this but I'm always very careful with it. I'm still scared that a drop will cause it to spring open.
I use the lens most for taking portrait shots. As I have a Canon 300D its focus length is multiplied by a 1.6 factor. This effectively makes it a 80mm lens. The small f stop allows you to get great looking blurred back grounds - just like the professionals. I've taken some great photos though you need to watch the field of depth or you can end up with a lot of soft photos.
I also like to use this lens for low light shots. Again the small f stop allows loads of light in and great night time photos.
For the price your camera bag really shouldn't be without it.

Summary: Great lens for the price.
