	Canon EF 75-300mm f4/5.6 USM MK3 ... have read several positive reviews about the Canon 75-300mm USM III lens but I don t share other people s enthusiasm because it is not nearly as sharp as I would expect from a Canon lens. Of course, compared to the Canon L Series lenses, this is an incredibly inexpensive item and, in its defence, I do find that my Canon EOS 50D, with it s jam-packed 15mp APS-C sensor, is very difficult to marry up with a lense to get the most out of it (unless you are prepared to spend thousands). At the close end of the focal range, the picture is crisp and sharp but unfortunately this tails off quite noticeably as the lens is extended (as does the auto-focus accuracy) and I have eve... 	Canon EF 100-400mm F4.5-5.6 L IS USM Lens ... got my Canon EF100-400 IS lens for bird photography, and it is a fantastic lens for all-round bird and wildlife photography. Image quality is excellent as you d expect from a Canon L series lens, and the image stabilisation works very well - it is possible to handhold the lens down to 1/100 and still get very good bird pictures provided the subject isn t moving much. Weighing in at over 1.5kg including the tripod collar (supplied) there s no getting away from it, this is a heavy lens. The Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS, to give it its full title, is a relatively new lens designed for Canon s APS-C cameras (e.g. 450D, 500D), so cannot be used on its full frame range (e.g. 5D, 1D). The lens sits at the budget end of Canon s product range and is available for around £220. It is, however, often sold with the Canon 450D and 40D cameras as a two lens package with the 18-55mm kit lens, giving a superbly capable camera and lens combination.
