... just got this lens through the post today and already I am happy with the results! I have a Canon 400D, which comes with an 18mm - 55mm zoom lens attached, which isn t bad, but it s also not great, especially in low light conditions. Even those pictures taken on nice sunny days or with a fast shutter speed aren t as sharp as you may hope, which is especially annoying when taking portrait shots. But none of this is a problem with this baby! For the first time I have been able to take indoor shots without the use of a flash thanks to the f/1.8 aperture! In addition all the pictures I took today came out looking nice an clean and crisp! One word of warning though...

... this is a down to earth honest little lens it comes in a little box and you open it up and first thing noticed its not the best built lens in the world but hey how much did you pay for it??? so second thing you notice is that its quick,noisy and just really different from other lenses you have used. unfortunately its got plastic contacts for the body of the camera and does not come with many accessories finding a hood for mine was trouble but as said again i got it in china for around 170RMB and that s like 40-50 pounds and this lens is as i said down the earth you point it at what you want to photo and it focuses quickly and take the photo and good ones at that... i...

Cherskiy Canon EF 100-400mm F4.5-5.6 L IS USM Lens
... is a great lens - make no mistake about it. Whilst it s not cheap, it is an excellent "maid of all work" zoom lens for wildlife, sport and aviation photography - and pretty much anything else that requires a decent piece of glass attached to your Canon DSLR camera. It does have its limitations, mind you, and you re not totally guaranteed a magazine-quality shot every time you hit the shutter release, but it s easier to take great photos than bad ones with it.
