great beginners lense (Nikon DX Zoom Nikkor)
Member Name: jimimavs
Advantages: wide focal length Disadvantages: narrow aperture This lense came bundled in with my nikon d80 when i bought it. The reason they bundled it with the camera is because it's just a great all around lense. As it is a DX lense it works for DX sensors so doesn't have that full frame crop factor that a full frame lenses have on digital slr's. with the 18 - 135 mm lense you have a wide range of photo opportunities at your disposal. from the wide angle landscape shot to the half body portrait and at the 135 mm end you got the beginnings of some great telephoto shots. if you are entering the digital slr market this a great lense to begin with. The glass is of a good quality and will create some crisp images. the only bad thing is the narrow aperture that the lense has. But an external flash will solve most of your aperture problems. Summary: great for entry level DSLR's
