Advantages: Auto-focus, lightweight, pretty cheap

Ok, so your new to Digital SLR camers, and you don't know what lens to get. Don't worry, this lens for the Olypmus EVOLT four thirds system is just the ticket. I got the Olympus E410 from PC World for a snip of a price, it came with a standard 17.4-45mm lens, which is good, but not the best, so I decided I wanted to get a versatile lens so I could do a number of style pics like portrait and panoramic etc.....

Now, like I say, I'm not technical in this department, but I can tell you the lens is pretty light, comes with a useful hood, which not only allows certain amounts of light in, but protects the lens itself - VERY USEFUL!

It is a great replacement for the more basic lens which comes with the camera, and gives great portrait pics. If you need a no-nonsense book for DSLR cameras, I highly recommend the Scott Kelby series, they are really user friendly, and explain how to use your lenses and camera very well!!

A great lens which is pretty in-expensive compared to Cannon/Nikon etc, delivering very similar results.
