Advantages: Loads, really nice bit of kit
Disadvantages: Little downside on focusing, nothing serious
Sigma is a world leader in lenses and they are proving that they can actively compete with Cannon and Nikon
This Sigma 70mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro Interchangeable Lens is a great lense, I was suprised just how good infact, I have several Macro lenses, by cannon and nikon and this is easily as good if not better.
The build quality is superb, the lens feels very robust and the manual focus ring is nicely it feels very sturdy and looks like a very expensive Nikon lense as apposed to a cheaper alternative.
The opticals on this lense are very good, I compared them from f/2.8 through to f/11 and f/16, noticed there was a little colour reproduction problem, but nothing serious and certainly unless you were a Professional photographer you wouldnt notice.

Finally there are better lenses, much better, but at £400.00 you would be very very hard pressed to find anything as good. It says it fits most SLR's, I checked it with Cannon and Nikon
Summary: If you have 400 quid and not a penny more for a macro lense, this is it.
